As children forgiveness was easier, we hadn't learned not to trust people. So does that make forgiveness cheaper from a child? Or does it make it more precious when you know what it's really worth?
Maddie's POV
When I wake up in the hospital I can feel Mommy's anger. I hope she's not mad at me I just wanted to help. I can feel her sinking into the rage, why does it feel like I'm losing Mommy? Suddenly I see Mommy she's gonna be like Aunty Althea? I use my mind link because Mommy would never be like Aunty Althea. That's why Mommy is the best mommy ever. I ask Daddy to take a pain potion to the cells for Aunty, she shouldn't have to hurt that bad. I don't know why I want to talk to her, I just want her to know I forgive her and I love her. I remember Mommy telling me one time about how when her Mommy died Grandpa forgot how to be nice and how to love. I wonder if Grandpa forgot how to love, is that what made Aunty so mean? Doesn't that mean Aunty just needs more love? Maybe I should see if Aunty can stay, Mommy said other than the brand I can decide what happens to Aunty. When she comes in she sits in the chair afraid to look at me.
"Aunty?"
"Yes, Little Luna?"
That's funny and I giggle, but I really like the idea of being like Mommy.
"I forgive you," her head snaps up."and if you want to stay in the pack I have a punishment picked out. You can leave if you want though.
"Anything, I will do anything, to prove I am sorry and I want to change"
So I tell Aunty that if she agrees to help change my bandages, does the chores with the omegas for one year, she can stay. I didn't expect her to agree quite so quickly.
"Of course Little Luna! Thank you for giving me this chance! Um I have a cream to help remove the scars, I hope you'll let me use it when I change your bandages?"
"Ok but only if you put it on your brand too."
