Regret

Althea's POV     I couldn't believe how fast she was. I heard her howl and smiled so close to the border now no way she should have caught up. The pain as she tore through my hamstring caught me off guard. I never would guessed that she had this big of a ruthless streak. What happened to the weak omega sister who forgave everything no matter what? To my shock and surprise she drags me back to my dungeon. After she forces me to shift I feel my wolf being ripped away, this is beyond cruel even for our father. As she approaches me with a painter pallet filled with as many colors as possible I begin to beg, she doesn't know what the different colors do, but I do. This is what strength really looks like I realize. Not being cruel and hurting the weak to make them be stronger, Dad was wrong, I was wrong, so horribly wrong. Looking at it in this light made me realize I was a monster, and I might never have a chance to show how sorry I am. The right combination of colors will kill and I have a feeling she intends to use all of them, to the very last drop. As I wait for what I know is going to be a very slow painful death, her eyes glaze over. She gives me a terrible option live wolfless, or die. At least without my wolf I can try to be better. I take the brand. She nods her head, before saying "Madeline has demanded the right to speak to you. You will get your brand, then you will go get it treated while she speaks to you." So saying she unfastens the restraints and turns to walk out. Before she can leave though I need to ask. "How can you do it?" "Do what?" "Turn the need for revenge off." "I don't. I never did." "But you were never cruel to any one." "What good would that have done?" "Wouldn't it have felt better?" "Maybe, but how can I hate how I was treated if I'm no better?" "This is why your a Luna isn't it?" "I don't know about that but it is why you are not fit to be an alpha" "Yes, Luna Alea" I didn't want her to misunderstand, but I needed her to know I understood and respected her strength. Luna was the only thing that seemed to fit. When I got to the cells Alpha Lionel was there waiting. To my surprise instead of looking surprised to see me he gave me a potion.  "Maddie insisted that I give you a pain potion" "Why" "Because she could not be more different than you" "I'm sorry" "Why" "Because I was wrong." I tortured this girl and she sends me a potion to make sure my branding wont hurt. This makes no sense! Why would anyone in their right mind do that!? I decide it's probably a trick to make it more painful, knowing it would be nothing less than I deserved I drink every drop. The wolf responsible for branding me waits 10 min then approaches with the iron, as he brands me I smell burning flesh, feel pressure, but no pain. She really sent me a pain potion. I must look shocked because Alpha Lionel calmly raises his brow at me. I stand up and we head to the hospital. I have no idea what the Little Luna wants, but if I can grant it I will even if it kills me I will be worthy of this chance. Walking in I begin to shake. I realize I am scared to see what I have done. I try to hide my shaking from the Alpha, but he proves why he is alpha by asking if I need a moment to gather myself. I hate that not only do I need it, but he doesn't even make me feel like I don't deserve it. How could I have been so wrong?
