“What, Sante?” Savio groaned.
“I’ll take her friend to my place.”
“What?” Rena and I said at the same time.
“Are you k********g now?”
He motioned his hands out.
“It hasn’t worked out for you so far.”
“Whatever, Sante. Take her and keep her out of the public eye until I can decide what to do with her.”
The guy Sante went to grab Rena, but she pushed him away and stood.
“Listen Rena, just do what they say, and I’ll call you,” McKayla spoke, under a shaky breath.
“We can call the police, McKayla.”
An hour later, I was pushed into his apartment, with a g*n to my back, as he talked to his men and brought my things.
“You'll be here for a few days until we close the deal.”
“You can’t keep me locked like I’m in prison, Sante.”
He glowered at me. I charged toward him and lifted my hand to punch him in the face, but he gripped my arm, blocking me.
“Stop fighting me!” he yelled, pulling me back to his chest. Our chests rose and fell, our breaths hitched. I pulled his hand to my mouth and gripped down tight.
“b***h!”
He pushed me off him, but I kicked him in the balls. Watching him drop to the floor, I started to climb over him to get the door opened, but he grasped my leg and reached to grip my hair.
“Argh!”
“Boss!” His men came from outside and pulled us apart as he seethed with rage.
“Take her to the guest room and lock her up,” he demanded.
“Let me go!”
“Take her phone and clothes, and no food.”
My eyes widened in shock.
“You can’t do that.” My stomach dropped at his statements.
He c****d his head to the side.
“Have to make sure your prison stay is an authentic, Miss Clark.”
I kicked my leg out again to hit him, but the guards dragged me to the bedroom. Once locked inside, I banged on the door.
“I’ll call the police! Let me out of here now.”
I slammed my hand on the door and crawled down to the floor with tears stinging my eyes. The guest room was large with a queen-size bed, TV, and bathroom. I should be happy he didn’t hurt me too badly, but it was only a matter of time before one of us killed each other.
