Sophia withdrew her hand, "This gentleman, you have the wrong person."
Charles frowned, it looked like she still hadn't forgiven them.
"Sophia, I know you hate us, but we had no choice at the time."
"No choice? How can there be no choice? You have made your choice."
"Sophia, Grandpa is back, and he wants to see you. Even if we've all done wrong, there is nothing wrong with Grandpa! Lately, Grandpa's health has been very bad."
In the Thompson family, it was feared that the master was the only one she was thinking of!
"I know, I'll go back and see him."
Sure enough, at the mention of the Master, Sophia agreed.
"Grandpa told me to pick you up and come back with me."
"I'll go back myself."
Sophia stopped talking to him.
Back at her place in Phoenix, Sophia took out her computer and typed in a string of codes to get what she wanted and sent it to the Disciplinary Committee.
Was Deputy Chavez? Those were enough for him to hold his breath! What good could it be to raise a son of a piece of s**t like that?
Only then did she start packing.
...
Once out of the airport, Sophia took a cab straight to the hotel she had booked - she was back, but she wasn't planning on going back to the Thompson's to stay there.
After arriving at the hotel and checking in, Sophia took a shower before taking a cab to Thompson's house.
"Mom, are you saying Sophia is back?"
Hearing this news, Victoria's face was unpleasant.
"Your grandfather asked your brother to pick her up."
Jocelyn's face was no better.
"What does grandpa mean? Sophia, she did such a humiliating thing and there are still people pointing fingers behind my back! Now once she comes back, how many more people will talk about our Thompson family's daughter behind our backs..."
Before Victoria could finish, Sophia had come in, and her words, Sophia heard them all.
Victoria wasn't afraid of her hearing.
"Sophia, why are you so cheeky? If I were you, I'd be embarrassed to live in this world."
Victoria's words were very mean.
"If you're too embarrassed to live, you can die now."
"Where's Grandpa?"
Sophia didn't even want to bother with them, she had only come back because her grandfather wanted to see her, so she had come back.
Victoria was furious with her, "Mom, look at her!"
"All shut up."
At this time, Master Thompson came down from the second floor.
"Sophia is my Gavin Thompson's granddaughter, and she deserves to live in the Thompson household. If either of you two say another word, you're both out of here."
"Grandpa, you can't be like this, Sophia she..."
"Victoria, you are unable to understand my words, aren't you?" Elder Thompson warned coldly, "Sophia, come here, Grandpa hasn't seen you in five years."
Seeing her grandfather's hair finish going gray, Sofia only felt her heartache for a moment, but she still walked towards him in a well-behaved manner.
"Grandpa, I came back to see you."
Dumped in that Phoenix place as a teenager with no one to take care of her, what a skinny mess she was.
Master Thompson held Sophia's hand, "Sophia, five years ago Grandpa wasn't there and didn't know what happened, but now Grandpa is back. With Grandpa here, no one dares to bully you."
"Grandpa, thanks."
This was the only person in this family who believed in her without any condition.
"You kid, what's the point of saying thank you to grandpa? Butler, go tidy up the room for Third Miss." No matter what, seeing Sophia, the master was in a good mood, "Jocelyn, go handle Sophia's transfer tomorrow."
"Dad, Sophia, she was expelled from school five years ago. Now, I'm afraid I won't be able to find any school that will take her."
This wasn't Phoenix, where a little money could find a school for Sofia.
Donald Trump acted as if he couldn't hear Jocelyn, "Just go to Harvard Westlake High School where Victoria is!"
"Dad, do you think Harvard Westlake School is a supermarket? That's the hardest high school to get into in Los Angeles. The rich and powerful don't always get in. Vici, she got in on her own."
"Grandpa, you don't have to worry about my business." Sophia came, just to see the Old master. "Besides, I have a place to stay. I don't live here."
Hearing her say that, the Old Master's face turned unpleasant, "Sophia, Grandpa said, with Grandpa here, no one dares to bully you. Everything in the Thompson family will depend on you in the future."
"Grandpa, what does Sophia know? She only fights and only hangs out with punks."
"Pop!"
The master slammed his teacup hard on the table, making a violent noise that shook the tea out of the cup.
"Victoria, one more word from you and you're out of here." Master Thompson vibrated, "What? I've only been out of the house for five years and my word doesn't work, does it?"
"Sophia, you won't listen to Grandpa anymore either, will you?"
"Grandpa, I..."
If it was someone else, she wouldn't give any respect at all. But now in front of her was the old master, the only person who would miss her.
"Okay." If it was Grandpa's last hope that she went to Harvard Westlake School, "But I don't live here."
Living with people she didn't like, she wasn't sure she'd get them killed.
"That's fine, grandpa won't force you, but you only came back tonight, so stay at home with Grandpa for the night."
Sophia nodded in agreement.
Sofia still didn't want to disappoint him, "Grandpa, it's late, go rest! I'll stay at home with you for the next few days."
"Good, as Grandpa grows old, I want to see the family in peace and harmony."
The old master finished meaningfully before he went upstairs with the butler's assistance.
Jocelyn took the butler to tidy up Sophia's room, and in the living room, only Sophia and Victoria remained.
Looking at the Sophia in front of her, Victoria always felt that the current Sophia was very different from the previous one. However, no matter how different she was, the Thompson family could only have her as a daughter.
Victoria's face was vicious in a way that didn't match her age, "Sophia, I didn't think that you would have the guts to come back."
Sophia took a piece of gum from her pocket and after peeling off the outside candy paper, she stuffed it inside her mouth.
"Victoria, I'll kick you out of the Thompson house!"
Sophia pressed on, turning to go upstairs and into her former room.
Victoria dropped to the couch, furious - damn Sophia, how dare she say such a thing?
Early the next morning, Master Thompson himself took Sophia to Harvard Westlake School.
Principal Long of Harvard-Westlake School was also the director of the Los Angeles Department of Education, and with two jobs, he was always busy, and not just anyone could meet him.
Master Thompson, who had a bit of a reputation here in Los Angeles, was waiting in the principal's office with Sophia in tow.
It wasn't until after eleven o'clock that Principal Long arrived at the office.
Seeing that someone was waiting for him, he immediately asked his assistant to open the door to his office and let the two of them in. After learning about Sophia's situation, Principal Long was in a difficult position.
With those grades, even the worst schools wouldn't want her, let alone Harvard Westlake!
"Principal Long, I've never begged anyone before, but this time, I beg you to do me this favor."
"Mr. Thompson, it's not that I refuse to help you. As you know, our Harvard Westlake School is the best in Los Angeles. The worst of our students here can get into the TOP 100 colleges. This grade of yours makes it too difficult for me. I think you'd better go to a regular high school! I reckon the other private high schools won't want you either."
Sophia, never wanting to make the Master beg, stood up and walked away.
Master Thompson, knowing the child's pride, immediately followed her out.
Just then, Principal Long received a call from Francisco.
