NIKO POV:

As I walked into howlers with my beta and his mate, my wolf Thor was going nuts. I couldn't understand why? he has been silent for the last 10 years given up hope on our mate. Most he says to me are grunts or lectures. Once I walked in, my nose got assaulted with the most pleasant scent lilacs and summer breeze . I saw the most amazing sight of a petite blonde with the lightest green eyes I ever saw. Her blonde hair was up in a messy bun, and her shorts were folded with her blank tank top.

she had a tattoo of a lilac on her bicep, which now makes sense with her scent. She was relatively short standing at 5'5, which matched her thin frame. also mixed with her was a scent of betrayal and sadness. I need to go easy and not alpha wolf with her. Besides, she's human, can't go shouting, mate, and scares her off. Once I got my senses under control, I saw her staring at my wolf Thor on my bicep, which caused Thor to puff his chest up with pride. She was looking at me from head to toe. She must feel the pull even with her being human. I watched as her knees almost gave out as she was leaning against the bar, her eyes completely dilated, caught in the same trance as me.

I decided to walk over and introduce myself. first, I gotta talk with Tiny and Mrs Mary. She said someone needs help fixing up her old house she shared with her beloved mate before he got killed by a rouge that came through town. I guess this woman had taken this house as her own needing to escape from the city. Who could blame her? nothing gives you the freedom that a forest does. No walls or lights trap you in.

I sighed and tried to hide the excitement I felt for finding my mate after losing hope. I walk up to the bar to greet Tiny. "Hey bud! how are ya ? long time no see how is the place? everything running smooth, or is your ma giving you a run for a buck?" Tiny chuckles his deep baritone laugh, the one no matter where you are, you know who that laughs that belongs to. "Oh, you know al-brother she keeps me in check, she will never retire. Between my ma and Venus, I don't think I'll ever step out of line."

The love he has for Venus, you see through his eyes even at the simplicity of saying her name. The longing I had that i wished to have that kind of love disappeared as I looked at the blonde next to me. Snapping out of my thoughts, tiny snaps his fingers in front of my face and says "niko did ya hear me?" took all I had to suppress a growl for the disrespect. I took a deep breath, hoping my eyes didn't change from Thor, and looked at him, and asked for him to repeat the question, with a little more altitude I had intended. Tiny swallowed from the knot in his throat, which was visible after realizing what he just did to his alpha. He repeats his question with his eyes averted and asks if "I had met faith?" she was the young woman who needed the help of fixing a farmhouse.

The realization of who and what had just happened hit him like a frate train. His mate name was faith, the name that restored it into his heart. Oh, of course! I remember Mrs Mary mentioning that the crew and I may get the job.

I look over at her and reach out my hand, "hi darlin' name is Niko. It is a pleasure to meet you." Once she touches my hand, it feels as if I touched an electric fence, not as intense, but a little jolt through my body.

Faith. I can believe this freaking guy! after our intense weird moment, or so I thought. he walks up to the bar, stands right next to me, and completely ignores me! he starts talking to Tiny and asks about Mrs Mary. this little old lady is sure surrounded by a lot of country gods. Tiny asks him about being able to help me, and it's like he got lost in his own head. When Tiny tried to snap his fingers to help him foucs, he snapped at the poor guy. Jerk, I thought. All of sudden, I hear the name. Niko, my heart slams to my butt, and my mouth instantly went dry.

He turns to me with the deepest southern draw and the most velvety voice I ever heard and introduced himself. Once I shook his hand, the spark I felt was like when your blanket shocks you randomly or when you plug something in the wrong socket. Again, this trance happens. Up close, I see his turquoise eyes, his thick eyelashes looking down. I noticed the full lips. Slight scar on his eyebrow. Freckles scattered across his cheeks. Oh, I wonder what those lips feel like. Shaking my head from those dangerous thoughts. I tell him my name is Faith smith, and I just moved into the old farmhouse house hour up the road. I asked him, "If he's familiar with it?" Niko said yea "its called star lane, what do you need help with?" So I started listing with the few I know for sure that needed fixed, and suggested we look at it tomorrow to see for sure what needs done.

He just nodded his head, and then we both looked forward towards the glass window at the bar. "Tiny clears his throat and asks me if I would like another drink? sure, can I have a coke this time, please? sure thing, sugar."

I could have sworn I heard niko growl at that. Before I could ask, the cinnamon colored hair guy came over and put his hand on niko's shoulder, then nodded at me. "Hi name is mase I'm niko bet-bestfriend. What is your name, and are ya lost? I turned to face him with a small smile, looked into his hazel eyes, and said my name was Faith smith, and I moved to Star Lane." He seemed caught off guard that I made eye contact and addressed him with confidence I didn't know I had. "I was here in hopes of finding someone to help with the repairs, tiny here suggested Niko. So I decided to wait until he came to ask bout the job. He was just answering me before you came and introduced yourself." The look on mase face you swore I smacked him he shook his head then looked at Niko, Niko which had a smile on his face. Niko asked "what he needed? mase said I just wanted to make sure there was no problem." Before he could finish the sentence, the tall dark hair beauty promise came over. Great, I thought here I was googling her boyfriend, and she's gonna be mad.
