The Dragons' Mates

Prologue The dragons went into hiding 300 years ago. They were tired of being hunted for there powers. Many coveted them because of their size and strength such as the witches. Many were afraid of them for the same reasons such as the fairies. The dragons were peaceful creatures. Dragon King Zeron was a kind and peaceful king. He decided that instead of waging war, it would be better to go into hiding. In order to protect his people, the Dragon King ordered them into hiding high up into the mountains where few dared to travel. Because of this, it was believed that the dragons were hunted to extinction. For years the dragons lived in peace, but their numbers have been decreasing. They are not finding their mates, their other half. As the years went on, fewer and fewer were finding their mates. They can mate with others, but a true mate stabilizes them and produces stronger children. It is believed by many of the dragons that they are not able to find their mates because the Moon Goddess is unhappy with the separation. The current Dragon King, Maximus, the son of the King Zeron, does not believe that hiding is the best option anymore. His children, MJ and Mina have not found their mates. MJ is 24 and will be taking the throne on his 25th birthday. Mina is 20 and has been training to be a top warrior since she was 12. He has made up his mind. It is time to come out of hiding. He hopes that coming out of hiding will please the Moon Goddess and she will allow his people to find their true mates. The werewolves have relied on themselves for as long as anyone can remember. While they make alliances with different packs, they do not really do a lot with other races. They have nothing against other races, they just stay within their own. There have been a few instances where a werewolf is mated to someone of another race, but that is seldom and it is usually a human. Many of the werewolf alphas attend the gathering in order to keep up with what is going on in the supernatural world, to make sure that there is no threat against the wolves, and to remind others that they are strong and self-reliant. Some of the alphas attend in hopes to find their mates amongst the other wolves that will be in attendance. One such alpha is Alpha Jace.
