Chapter 9 The heavens opened just as we left the Newcastle city limits. We had to turn the windscreen wipers on full blast to help keep the windscreen clear. Mark had remained pretty quiet since leaving his dad’s. I thought it best to let him work through his emotions. “It went off okay, I thought,” Mark eventually said, changing lanes on the motorway. “Yes, not bad.” I still had my own reactions to Roy to sort through.
