The Miracle

Chapter 3

"Looks like may amnesia po ang pasyente. It's maybe due to shock after the accident kaya hindi niya maalala kong sino siya at kong bakit siya nandito. For now, she needs to stay in here for further check-up." The doctor said before leaving them. The three of them stare at the girl who is also looking at them strangely. Amnesia.....? 

"Are you sure about this?" Attorney Gareth asks while looking at Alexandro. 

Alexandro decided to take her dahil wala itong ma alala at kahit labag man ito sa kanyang luob na akuin ang mysteriusong babae. wala na siyang magagawa dahil nakapag decide na siya kanina pa. He look at the girl waiting and looking at him. She smile nang makita nitong nakatingin siya. 

"Hah..." He sighed frustratedly at ibinalik ang atensyon kay attorney Gareth. "I think so...." He said tiredly. He doesn't know why pumayag siyang akuin ang babae. Yes, he has the responsibility to take care of her kasi siya ang nakabanga but his secretary and attorney already did their work. He can easily leave her and forget about her.

And the only thing that he needs to do is go home and relax. But he doesn't know why he stayed. He sighed again and look at the person kong bakit nandito parin siya sa hospital at nagtitiis.

AMNISIA? Matapos sabihin nang doctor na may amnesia ang babae agad itong umalis at iniwang sila sa situation na hindi nila inaasahan. Ukol dito ay gagawa pa sila nang additional test para ma determine if okay naba itong ilabas. He tiredly turned and sit on the nearest chair in the emergency room. He closed his eyes to relax from the stress he felt just a moment ago. His stress from his work tapos dadagdag pa ang babaeng ito sa stress niya. He still remembers what happened a while ago bago siya umalis nang tuluyan.....

"Sir?" Kurt called him. Iminulat naman niya ang kanyang mata at walang ganang tumingin dito. 

"I will settle everything in here, you can leave the rest to us." Kurt said formally at him. 

Looks like it's time to go. He doesn't need to take care of her as long as he pays for the medical fee. She can do whatever she wants. He needs to leave now because he has a lot of work to do. 

"Clean this mess." He firmly said before standing. The two nod their head as a sign of approval. 

Naglakad papalabas si alexandro nang dalhin siya nang paa niya sa higaan nang babae sa emergency room. Nakapikit ito at mukhang tulog. Aalis na sana siy nang may humawak sa dulo nang damit niya. 

"Please don't leave..." Ani nang babae sa mahinang boses habang nakahawak sa manggas nang damit niya. 

Hindi alam ni Alexandro kong bakit biglang bumagal ang pintig nang kanyang puso habang nakatingin sa babaeng nagmamaka-awa na wag siyang umalis. He don't want to entertain this strange feeling kaya naman hinawakan niya ang kamay nang babae na nakahawak sa kanyang damit at dahan-dahan itong inalis itong kinalas sa pagkakahawak.

Nakatitig lang ito sa mata ni Alexandro habang ina-alis ang kanyang pagkakahawak. He stares at her for a second and quickly turned, leaving her staring at his back. He was walking toward his car when a pang of pain was felt in his heart. Like every walk he makes was hard and shallow. What the f**k is wrong with him... Is he having an attack? Is he sick?

He stopped for a while and calm his heart before grabbing his keys from his pocket and was about to enter his car when a beautiful face flash on his mind. It was just a flash but still, he can see her face looking at him pitifully. It was the face of that strange woman. "Please don't leave..." her beautiful voice echo in his ears making him more frustrated. 

 Alexandro bites his lips as he breathes deeply while closing his eyes. "f**k it..." Ani nito habang nakatingin sa pinto nang emergency room. Her innocent face flashed on his mind again as he curses himself more. 

"What a pain in the head." He said to himself and walk again.

He entered his car and starts the engine but the engine didn't start. Paulit-ulit niyang inistart ito pero wala pa rin. He laughs at himself while looking at the emergency room. 

"What the f**k is wrong with me." tanong nito sa sarili habang nakahawak sa buhok. it was like the whole world was telling him not to left her. He breathes deeply before trying to start the engine again. But to his luck, it died again. He counted one to ten before starting the car again. Hoping for it to start so he could leave already.

But with defeated feeling, lumabas siya sa sasakyan at naglakad papasok sa hospital. He searched for her bed, nang makita niya ito dahan dahan siyang lumapit. Tahimik lang itong naka-upo at nakatitig sa mga taong naglalakad. She look sad bbut the same time calm. Nang makalapit siya dito, agad itong tumingin sa kanya at ngumiti. 

"I know you won't leave me..." She said smiling at him. And just like that, the heavy feeling that he felt earlier was gone and his heart starts to beat again. 

"What did you do to me..." He subconsciously asks while looking at her eyes. She just smiles at him and holds his hand. 

After leaving and going back, Kurt and Gareth were shocked after seeing him stay and holding her. Well, He didn't hold her, siya ang humawak sa kamay niya at kahit gusto man niyang bumitaw sa pagkakahawak, and babae naman ang ayaw bumitaw. 

Its been 4 hours at nandito parin sila sa hospital. Katatapos lang din ng MRI scan ng babae. Nag hihintay nalamang sila sa resulta. Si alexandro at gareth na lamang ang nanatili sa hospital dahil pinabalik na niya si Kurt sa office dahil marami pa itong trabaho na hindi natatapos. Kahit gusto man niyang bumalik sa opisina his feet and mind won't settle.  

"As of now, I'm trying to trace the origin of this girl. Nag padala narin ako nang picture at missing report nang babae para madali nating mahanap kong sino ang pamilya nito." Ani ni Gareth habang nakatingin sa telephono. 

"Okay...." Alexandro agrees while looking at the girl happily talking to another patient. She was talking to a girl, a little girl to be precise. He doesn't know what they were talking but he can see her laughing and hold the little girl's hand. The little girl smiles at her and laughs again. 

 ".......She looks like a crazy person laughing like that... Should I get worried?" He unconsciously blurted out what's on his mind making Gareth chuckle at his concern. 

"Sir, If your concern we can leave her in the hospital until she regains her memories" Gareth suggested at him. 

"......" Alexandro didn't say anything and remaining silent while looking at her. When she noticed him looking, she would smile at him and talk to her new little friend again. After a while, the doctor gives them the result of the MRI scan. 

"According to her result there is nothing wrong with her brain, there is no swollen or concussion. Her Amnesia may be the result of shock after the accident. She just needs time to recover and I'm sure she can remember soon. She can go home now." Ani nang doctor habang nakatingin sa MRI result. 

"Thanks, Doc." Gareth thanked the doctor. Nakipag kamay naman siya at nagpaalam na. 

"What do we do now?" Gareth asks him while they walk toward her.

"For now, let just observe and wait." Alexandro said at lumapit sa babae. 

He pitied her. Alexandro knows the reason deep inside his mind why he can't leave her alone. He remembers himself at her being alone in this scary place. Because he knows the feeling of being alone that's why he doesn't what her to be alone. 

"Hey...We need to leave." Alexandro said to her. Nakatingin ito sa kanya at ngumiti. She quickly held his hand habang dahan dahang tumayo. 

"Amh... do you remember your name?" Alexandro asks as they walk side by side with each other. Gareth was waiting for them at the parking lot. 

"Name?... What's my name?" Innocenteng tanong nito kay Alexandro o sa sarili. 

"Nevermind... From now on your name is Ava. Until you regain your memory I will call you Ava... Okay?" Alexandro said to her. Ava also called Avis in Latin means bird or a living one.

"Ava...." The Girl smile genuinely as she repeated her name on her lips.
