Day four today, wishing we were out off the mountain. The loud noises just ended an hour before sunrise. I didn’t get any sleep, my wife didn’t get any sleep either. To much in shock from the events that happened yesterday. I never expected this to happen like this. Now I was wishing we hadn’t came out here. My wife who is still scared to death, now sat and looked at me. Tears still dripping down here eyes. I had nothing to say. I was silent and sat, looking at the tent flap for the front door. I didn’t dare open it, I knew that thing would be out there prowling. Walking around us, stalking us. Waiting for the right time to pounce.
“We need to get home babe! I’m not wanting to be here anymore!” My wife cried to me. I just sat still in shock. I slowly looked her way and I told her, “We are leaving now. While it’s daytime.”
She nodded and started packing her things. I started packing mine as well. We were getting out of the mountains, there was no way we were going to stay anymore time out here. After we got done packing we packed up the tent. We didn’t even bother to eat. After a night full of terror, we had no appetite. With the tent now packed and everything now in our bags, we took off down the trail. Hoping to make it to the Jeep before dark.
As we were hiking down the trail we stopped so my wife could go answer the call of nature. That was fine with me because I had to answer the same call. We stopped and dropped our things and started away. The woods still silent as can be, so the sound traveled a distance. It was still to quiet. Almost as if we were the only ones out and awake. Mind you, these woods in this mountain range are normally full of life. Yet there was no sound and hasn’t been for the last day or more. Now with my bladder feeling better now I turned around and looked at my wife.
“Babe, we need to keep talking to each other that way we can keep an eye on each other.” I told her, mainly so we could comfort one another on the trek down.
“I agree babe. We must keep our minds occupied and on each other. That way not to lose sight of the other.” She said with a little more hope spreading across her face than she had before. I was now on a mission. To keep my wife safe, no matter what.
All of the sudden we heard branches rustling.
“Babe you hear that?” I asked her still looking at her.
“Yes I did. What was that?” She asked me curious as to what my answer would be. To be honest I had no idea though. I thought Bigfoot but that wasn’t what we were dealing with clearly. All of the sudden out of the brush came a voice.
“Johnny, come here. Now!” The voice sounded metallic, but also a lot similar to my wife. How could this be? She was in my arms, frightened of the voice.
“What was that babe?” My wife asked me trying to get some answers as I was.
“I don’t know babe. It sounded like you babe, but how could that be possible?” I told her while also asking the same question I had in my head when I heard that voice. At this point neither of us wanted to move. We were to terrified and frozen with fear to even dare breathe. The quiet woods was not helping our case at all though. Once again the same voice from the woods. Only this time more sinister.
“Johnny. Come here. Now!” Almost yelling now with that bit of metallic sound with the voice. My wife, now crying started begging for us to go home. I was also more terrified than I had ever been.
“Babe get up.” I said without hesitation.
“We’ve got to get out of here! You go ahead of me. I’ll be behind you to protect you!” I exclaimed as I picked her up out of my lap and tried calming her. She started running ahead of me and I followed while looking back and realizing we were being chased down. Whatever was chasing us though, it didn’t look like anything normal at all. Bigfoot didn’t come to mind when I looked at this thing. When I looked at it, it was as if everything had slowed down. The creature resembled the body of a man’s, which was covered in course dark matted fur. The legs were off though, they bent backwards at an unnatural angle. It also, ran awkwardly thru the brush. When I looked at it’s face, my skin turned nearly as white as a ghost. It had a head that resembled a goats head, horns and all. With eyes that were as black as the night around it. The thing also had hoofs for feet unlike Bigfoot. It was chasing us and gaining ground.
“Run babe!” I cried out to her as we ran. Both of us were fleeing for our lives as fast as we could with our bags on our backs. This thing still catching up with every step. I looked ahead to make sure my wife is alright. She was still running as fast as she could. The next second though, out of nowhere, she was blindsided by another one of the creatures.
“Babe!!!” I screamed as I ran at the thing. The creature grabbed me and threw me right up against the same tree that my wife had been thrown to when she got hit. The back of my head slammed against the tree with a loud thud. My ears started ringing from the hit. I looked beside me saw a horrific site. My wife had hit the tree but she was now impaled on a branch on that same tree. Right thru her left shoulder blade. She was whimpering and crying, blood dripping from the wound onto her clothes than the ground. I than looked ahead to see the thing walking towards us. I looked at my wife and she looked back at me.
“Babe,” she said still whimpering, “ I want you to know. That no matter what happens now. I love you. You have been the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I wouldn’t take back any of the time we shared together.” Still whimpering she kept her eyes on me awaiting a response.
“I love you to babe. You have been the best wife any man could’ve ever asked for.” I told her still groaning in pain from hitting the tree.
“I love,” she stuttered out as the creature came over and picked her up and slammed her back first onto the branch. The branch went thru her chest area. She started choking on her own blood as it poured out of her mouth.
“No!” I yelled tears starting down my face as I watch my wife slowly leave the earth. The creature than turned to me and with one motion of its arms, I was knocked out.
