10 years ago……… She was running around, playing in the garden, and waiting for her parents. At Nine years old, Lilly didn’t expect that this would be the day she made a new friend. On their way to the church, she found herself singing and staring out of the window, staring at the scenery. This day was special. She could feel it. She looked at her mum and smiled as they pulled up at the church house. They were walking hand in hand towards the entrance when she suddenly heard a car approaching, and her mum stopped and turned around to greet the new guest. Her mum hugged the lady, and they seemed friendly. Does mummy know these people? she wondered. Lilly waited at the door and watched the pleasantries unfolded. There was an elderly lady, Mrs Lisa Kale, her husband, Mr Edward Kale, and two young boys, Romeo, and Dillan. Lilly’s mum, Kate, and her father, Wesley, quickly became friends with Aunty Lisa and Uncle Edward. They sat together in the service and afterwards Kate invited Lisa and her family for lunch at their home. Lilly was extremely excited as, from what she could tell, Dillan was almost her age, and Romeo was the same age as Lilly’s older brother William. Lilly also had a baby sister Marsha and she was just a baby, so everyone was fond of Marsha. Everyone loves babies, although Lilly wasn’t a fan of Marsha’s. Baby sisters are so annoying, she thought. At the home of Lilly and her family, they sat down for lunch and enjoyed the afternoon; Lilly and Dillan got along very well and they also quickly became friends. While Lilly, Dillan, William, and Romeo played outside there was a sudden loud crash, and everyone froze. “What just happened?” Romeo looked at William with large eyes. “That was definitely a car crash,” William said, and at that moment all four parents came running down the driveway. Kate screamed, “Wes, call for help!” as she reached their front gate; she saw something, a body. “Oh my God,” she screamed; there seemed to be a young lady lying on the side of the road. As she approached, the young lady lay still, with no movement, no breathing…. Lilly thought she was dead, she had to be dead. Why wasn’t she moving? Lilly: “Mama, why is she not moving?” Kate: “William, take all the kids back inside,” she ordered her son. Will stood frozen, he was in shock. He couldn’t move, he just kept staring at the lifeless body. Edward: “Romeo, take them inside! Now!!” Uncle Edward shouted. Romeo: “Yes, Dad. Come on guys, let’s go inside.” He ushered all the kids, but Lilly stood, shocked, scared, and unable to move. He gently took her hand and before he could say anything, they both jumped back as they felt an electric shock pass between them. She looked up at him and he said, “Let’s go inside, Lilly.” The police and ambulance arrived as they walked inside. They sat and waited, wondering if the lady was hurt, if she had survived, and if she had, who was she?
