Chapter 10( Kael confrontation his destiny)

440 Words
The desert sun had barely risen over Dun’Vhar when Kael slipped from the fortress under the guise of a patrol. The weight of the prophecy pressed on him like a stone in his chest. Every step toward the Tower of Nyx was a step toward truth he had long avoided. He reached the Chamber of Reflection, an ancient Vhalaris hall carved into the cliffs, where mirrors of polished obsidian showed not just appearances but the essence of one’s soul. Kael stared at his reflection. The golden-eyed prince of legend… or the harbinger of darkness? --- The Truth Revealed A voice echoed, low and haunting. “Kael Vhalar… the darkness calls to you because it has always been part of you.” Kael spun, hands on his sword. The shadows in the corners of the hall twisted and swirled, forming a figure of pure black energy with faint red glimmers—an echo of the darkness beneath Isyra. “You… you are tied to it,” Kael whispered, horror and disbelief in his voice. “Yes,” the darkness hissed. “Your bloodline binds you to the power sleeping under your lands. You were born to either command it… or be consumed.” Kael’s fists clenched. Every lesson, every order, every battle he had fought seemed meaningless against this revelation. “Then what do I do?” “Choose,” the voice said, echoing through the hall. “Choose to fight it, or let it rise. Choose to protect her, or let the kingdoms burn. But know this: the prophecy cannot be rewritten. Only fulfilled… or broken with your own hands.” --- A Heavy Burden Kael sank to his knees, chest heaving. The realization was terrifying: he was no longer just a prince of Vhalaris, a soldier trained to obey. He was a linchpin of destiny. A force the darkness could exploit—or the world could rely upon. He thought of Lyria—the Moonbound Princess, glowing silver in the Tower, facing unimaginable danger with courage and resolve. And he understood that whatever choice he made, it would not only shape his fate… but hers as well. Rising, Kael gritted his teeth. “Then I choose to fight,” he murmured, his voice steady. “For her. For Isyra. And for the chance to prove that I am not the darkness… I am its end.” Outside, the desert sands shifted with the first winds of a coming storm. Kael knew the war had moved beyond armies and kingdoms—it had become a war of destiny, and the price of failure was more than he could yet imagine.
