Chapter 22: In My Head
[ Derek ]
"I'm starting to not like this idea," Isaac paced back and forth, rubbing his fingers over eachother in worry. "It sounds kind of dangerous, I defiantly don't like this idea and I defiantly don't like him."
Derek gave the teen wolf a short glance before responding. "You'll be fine."
"Can't Trinity do it? She's been using me as her test dummy for the fallen angel stuff. Isn't this the same thing?"
"Trinity isn't here, Peter makes her uncomfortable, but even if she was she hasn't gotten far enough to unlock past memories, just future."
Isaac paused, thankful for the distraction. "What's going on between you two anyway? She's always here and you obviously feel something for her."
"It's none of your business, Isaac. All you have to worry about is Peter."
"Are you saying I should worry because I really don't like him."
"Nobody likes him."
The loud screech of the front door sliding open grabbed their attention. "While being dead has impaired some of my abilities, hearing isn't one of them. If you've got something to say, I'm sure you can say it to my face."
"We don't like you."
"Fair enough," A set of claws came from Peter hands and he walked over to Isaac after taking off his jacket. "I'll get more out of you if you're calm."
Isaac watched Derek'a uncle with car, blue eyes filled with fright and distrust. "Have you done this before? You know what you're doing?"
"Alphas have done it for years. It takes a steady hand because you could be paralyzed or die. But I've done it a few times and I have paralyzed anyone."
"Does that mean you—"
Memories flashed before Peter's eyes once he slid his claws in the back of Isaac's neck. Everything was so blurry but he could decipher members of the alpha back, Deucalion in the corner, Boyd, the twins pulling someone—Isaac away. "I saw them," Peter gasped his claws retracting to their proper place. "It was blurry, but Isaac found them. Deucalion was there talking about time running out."
"He's going to kill them."
"No," Peter denied immediately, shutting down the thought of death. If he wanted them dead he wouldn't have waited four months to do so. "—but he said by the next full moon they'd be dead."
Derek stood from his chair. "The next full moon?"
"Tomorrow night."

"No," Trinity buckled her seatbelt back up, requesting Derek drive her back home but he wouldn't allow it. The two sat in the shiny black Camaro outside of Deaton's clinic. "—I am not helping you kill Isaac."
"I'm not going to kill him. Deaton said there was a way for him to get better results than Peter did—a clear picture."
Trinity followed him inside the clinic even though she didn't want to. "By killing him."
"Your heart rate needs to be very slow," Alan Deaton's voice carried from the back room.
"How slow?"
"Nearly dead."
Trinity have Derek a look to which he rolled his eyes and guided her in the room with him. "That looks cozy," The blonde commented on the metal tub filled with ice water and mistletoe. "Is it safe?"
Everyone waited expectantly for the answer. "Would you actually like me to answer that?"
"No, I guess not." Isaac rose from his crouch and took his shirt off, tossing it behind him.
Trinity took a moment to subtly checkout the beta's naked torso before Derek kicked her shoe.
"You don't have to do this."
Overruling Derek's ultimatum, Isaac slowly emerged himself into the water, the cold temperature numbing his body and changing his breathing. Derek and Scott held onto his shoulders and sunk him underwater until he stopped fighting them and lifted to the surface on his own, taking in a deep breath as he entered the hypnosis.
"Remember only I speak. Too many voices will send him into shock and kill him." Deaton went forward, his voice soothing as he talking to the boy. "Isaac, can you hear me?"
"Yes, I hear you."
Everyone stayed deadly silent, afraid to even breathe too loud and hurt the beta. "I'm going to ask you a couple of questions regarding the night you found Erica and Boyd. I want you to remember that night as vividly as possible."
"I don't want to do that," Isaac started to grow uneasy, and the water splashed over the top of the tub as he moved around.
"Isaac, you're okay. They're just memories, they can't hurt you. What do you see?"
He calmed down slightly, enough to answer the question. "We're in a building, it's like marble."
"Anything else?"
"It's abandoned," Isaac suddenly tensed and grabbed ahold of Scott's bicep tightly. "They see me. They see me."
"What do you see?" Deaton's spoke softly after allowing Isaac the chance to relax.
"They're talking about the full moon, how they're going to be out of control and hurt each other."
Deaton kept going with the questions, but Isaac couldn't continue, he was too wound up in the memory to realize it wasn't going to hurt him.
"This isn't working," Derek interrupted impatiently. "Isaac, where are you?"
Everyone started yelling, trying to tell the other to shut up before they hurt him but all the noise was confusing him, pulling him out of the hypnosis. "It's a vault, it's a bank vault." Isaac jumped out of the water, receiving a warm towel but everyway was stuck silent with shock. "What?"
Stiles spoke up first when no one else would. "You don't remember what you said before you snapped out of it, do you?" He'd seen Derek blindly reaching for Trinity's hand squeezing it tight but he didn't comment.
"No."
"You said you found a body."
Isaac's lips were turning their normal color now, slowly fading from the blue they were earlier. "What body?"
"Erica," Stiles hesitantly admitted. "You said it was Erica."
