Chapter 17: The Fallen [ Trinity ] "Such a shame really," Matt mused, his eyes looking at the blonde with greedy eyes. "—you weren't even trying to get into this mess and somehow it just sucked you up into it anyways." He used the barrel of the gun as motivation to get Trinity to soundlessly get back into the Sheriff's office. All eyes were on them and the Sheriff raised his hands in surrender. "It's Matt, isn't it?" He nodded. "She's innocent, Matt. We can solve whatever issue you have without the gun." "It's hilarious how right you are," Matt Daehler laughed at him, the gun resting comfortably in his hand. "I can do just enough damage and more without it." With his hands still raised in surrender, the older Stilinski continued talking. "Look Matt, I know you don't want to hurt people." "Actually, I want to hurt a lot of people and while you guys weren't exactly on my list, I've got enough room for a few more." The following events went by so fast, Trinity was sure it was just a dream. From Matt confiscating the phones, to making Stiles handcuff his own father in a holding cell. The remaining three were forced to the front room, all of the dead bodies covered in blood. "Did you kill them all?" "Yes," Matt sniggered, gleefully staring at the abundant supply of dead officers that didn't know what was coming for them. "—well, Jackson did. I just thought about killing them and he did." "Why are you doing this?" A knock on the door prevented Matt from sharing. "Open the door, Scott." The kanima master demanded, knowing full well that his mom was on her way to the station upon Scott's request before Matt had even arrived. Scott hesitated, not wanting to risk the life of his mother. "Matt, please don't do this." "Open the door." Thankfully for Scott, it wasn't Melissa McCall at the door. Taking her place was an angry Derek Hale who fell to the floor, the paralytic toxics seeping out the kanima's claws rendering the werewolf immobile. "This is the kid controlling the kanima?" The angry sixteen year old crouched down, the vein in his forehead pulsating. "Sorry Derek, not everyone can be a badass werewolf." Responding to the shocked look on everyone's face, Matt continued. "That's right, I know all about it. Werewolves, kanima's, fallen angels. It's like fricken Halloween every full moon." "I rather turn into a werewolf than a homicidal b***h," Stiles sassed, receiving the same paralyzing cut on the back of his neck. Matt stepped forward, keeping Trinity by him. "Got to keep you close. Can't have you poofing your way out of here." When he led the way, leaving Derek and Stiles on the ground, the shining of the lights of a car flashed past the window. "Help!" Trinity yelled, praying that if it was Melissa she'd call someone and stop Matt. "Shut up!" Matt yelled, a single shot firing off, the bullet landing in her abdomen, the crimson liquid pumping steadily out of her body. "This all could've been avoided if you'd just follow directions." The door opened and Melissa stared at the blood seeping out of the teenage girls body, but the gun pointed at her child was the only thing keeping her from moving forward and using her medical training to save her life. "Please, let me help her." "Stand back," Matt threatened to Scott her only son, his finger hovering over the trigger. "—or I'll shoot him next." Melissa raised her hand, stepping back a bit. She was still dressed in her hospital scrubs that reeked of cleaning supplies. this wasn't what she expected to be doing after double shift at Beacon Hills Memorial. Matt let her walk past, keeping his weapon drawn as he guided her to the holding cell with Stilinski, who'd been shouting since the gun went off. "She really needs a doctor." "Something tells me that Trinity will be just fine." After everything was secure, Matt left the cell, urging Scott to follow. "Give me the book." He demands once they were far enough away from the parents who remained oblivious to the supernatural aspects of town. Scott stammered for a moment, confused at the request. "What book?" "The bestiary and not just a couple pages, I want the whole damn thing." "I don't have it. Trinity does." Matt reached over, pulling the blonde up by her hair, ignoring her pain filled cries and the ample threats that Derek had spewing from his mouth. "Give it to me." "Why do you need it so badly?" His blue eyes burned win rage and frustration before he lifted up his shirt showing the green scales that were growing against his side, a eerie shine glossing over it when he breathed. "I need it to explain this!" Trinity gasped, her eyes looking up and down at the scales. "You're turning into the kanima because you're abusing it's purpose. It's a revenge seeking weapon, and once you use it outside of the issue, then you face the consequences." Matt stared at her, responding with sarcasm even though the words she'd spoke was more information he'd gotten since he'd become the kanima's master. "I thought you said you didn't have the book." "I don't," Trinity gritted through her teeth, applying more pressure to her bullet wound. It wasn't as bad as before, the blood was clotting but she could still feel the metal scraping against her ribs and that was excruciating. "—doesn't mean I didn't read it." "How do you fix it?" "You can't." Matt raised the gun again pointing it at her head. "Wrong answer."
