~ A M E L I A ~ Everyone kept glancing over at me. They all kept thinking that I hadn’t noticed because I hadn’t been looking up at them when they did, but I noticed. Every damn time, I noticed. What made it worse was that we were all seated in a booth at Sammy’s parents’ cafe, so we were all forced to face each other. I was just thankful that I was sitting on the edge of the booth; it made it easier for a brief escape, whether it was to hide away in the bathroom for a couple of minutes or buy another drink, which I didn’t even want, but I’d take it to have just a few extra seconds of not having my friends stare so intensely at me.
