My name was Knox Bennet. I was the CEO of a powerful company and I also owned a few hotels and casinos. I was currently at my company working for the day. You see I was in the process of trying to save my PA. She was a sweet woman and damn good at her job. Her boyfriend on the other hand planned on asking her to marry him soon so he could launder money and put it all in her name and send her to jail and him make of with all that money. I planned on making her my girlfriend to save her.

"Miss. Sanders" I shout

she had known me for a hardass and I wasn't going to change that.

"Yes Sir." She says walking in

"close the door" I tell her

She closes it and walks over taking a seat.

"I have something i want you to watch. After that we will talk about what is going to happen" I tell her

she nods and I spin my computer screen around and hit play. Her jaw dropped and a tear slipped down her face. I had to bite my tongue to keep from going to comfort her.

"How?" She asks with a shaky voice

"Your apartment is bugged. Now this is what is going to happen. Your going to have a lunch meeting with your boyfriend and your going to end things telling him your were having an affair with me. Once you do that you will be moving into my penthouse with me" I tell her

"No way" She gasps out

"fine then i'll leak the video to the world" I say spinning the screen back around

"Wait" She shouts

"Yes?" I say

"Why?" She asks with a trembling voice

"I have my reasons. Now do we have a deal?" I ask

She nods and stands on shaky legs and walks out with her head held high. I felt bad for her and I intended on telling her everything tonight. I followed her on her lunch date and listened to the whole conversation. He was pissed and raised his voice so I walked over and helped her to her feet and then I drove her to my penthouse. Once getting her inside she collapsed. I scooped her up and carried her to bed. Once she was down I sighed and got everything together I needed. About two hours later she woke up and I walked in turning on the lamp and giving her a glass of water.

"We need to talk now. No one is listening and we are alone. Hailey I did this for a reason. I need to show you something. Are you up for it?" I ask

"Is it me f*****g someone else in my bed?" She snarls at me

"I'm sorry about that. I just needed you to agree. I swear I didn't see anything. You were the only one to see that video i promise" I tell her

"what's going on?" She asks

"Come with me" I tell her

she pushes the covers back and follows me to the living room. When I sat down she was standing over by the tall glass window looking out at the city. I let her collect her thoughts and then after ten minutes cleared my throat. She jumped slightly but looked over at me and come over sitting down by me. I handed her the file and she opened it she flipped through it and tears flowed down her face. She dropped the file and stood up and walked over to the bar and poured herself a glass of scotch and my eyes widened. She down it sighing and pouring another. She sipped it while pacing and I left her to her thoughts. I wanted her to talk to me not the other way.

"How long?" she asks softly

"How long what?" I ask

"How long have you known?" She asks softly

"About three months. I had to get proof. I needed you to end things on a bad note with him. I swear I will make sure everyone knows we aren't together when this is over. But your damn good at your job and your a nice lady I couldn't watch that happen to you. Hate me all you want but I just wanna keep you safe. You have become a constant in my life and you know I don't like change" I tell her

"Thank you" She whispers

"Why don't you have a shower. I called to have clothes brought for you and bathroom things and i'll order dinner. We can eat and talk some more but you haven't ate and you have had two glasses of my scotch on a empty stomach." I tell her

"I can drink that whole bottle and barely be buzzed. My uncle loves scotch it's our choice of drink. I can drink a grown man under the table." She says surprising me

"All that aside you still need to eat" I tell her

"A hot bath does sound nice" she mumbles

"Where there is a huge tub in there big enough to fit six people comfortably." I tell her

"Yeah ok" She says sitting her glass down

"Bags are on the bathroom counter" I say

She nods and walks out I hear bath water start up and I know she will take a bit so I hold off on calling room service. I make her a cup of hot tea and then sigh knowing she's naked. I walk in the bedroom and she left the bathroom door open.

"Hailey" I call

"yeah" She mumbles

"I made you some hot tea. can I come in?" I ask

"Sure" She says

I walk in and notice I only see her head over all the bubbles. I chuckles and she smiles slightly.

"I over done the bubbles on accident. I forgot they would bubble more with the jets." She mumbles

"it's alright. Just bubbles. Here you go" I say handing it to her

"Thanks" She says

"No problem" I tell her and turn to leave

"Wait" she calls

"Yeah" I say

"Can you just sit and talk to me. I don't care about what just keep my mind distracted" She asks

"Sure. Are you a only child?" I ask

"No i have a brother. He's younger and a pain in my ass." She says smiling

"Lucky. I am a only child sadly" I tell her

"to bad." She says looking at me

"Why?" I ask

"You with a hot brother now that's something I can deal with around the office" She says smirking

I chuckle and she giggles behind her mug.

"Are you saying I don't give you enough eye candy?" I ask

"Oh please I have seen you shirtless plenty of times. I get my eye full believe me" She says smiling

"Ah yes. Sorry about that" I say

"I'm not complaining. I like the tattoos" She says

"Ah so that's your thing" I say

She places the mug down and places a arm across her chest and slowly rises up and then her other hand covers her p***y and she stands. My jaw drops at her tattoos.

"Yes tattoos are my thing" She says sitting back down in the bubbly water

"How many?" I ask

"12" She says

"None you can see" I comment

"Most places won't hire if you have visible ones" She says looking at me

"Well you job isn't going anywhere. What is one you wanted that you want visible?" I ask

"I always wanted one on my wrist" She tells me

"Get it done" I tell her

"Maybe one day" She says laying her head back

I watched her body relax and she sighs.

"Come on you need to eat" i tell her opening a large towel for her

She nods and leans forwards pulling the plug for the water to drain and then switches on the water and flicks the switch to turn on the shower hose to rinse away all the bubbles from her body. Once she was done she turned it off and stepped out and I turned around just to wrap the towel around her.

"I'll leave you to get dressed." I say and walk out

I order a bit of everything from room service and when she walked in the living room she looked more relaxed. She reached up and let her long blonde hair down and gave it a shake. I hadn't realized her hair was that long. She rang her fingers through it and she sighed rubbing her temples. The elevator dinger and a woman pushes the cart in and she places all the trays on the counter and leaves. I walk over picking up a plate and sitting it on the table.

"Come eat" I tell her

She sits down and digs in right away. She cleared her plate and sighed.

"Full?" I ask

"I am. I missed lunch today" she says flinching

"Sorry about that. Tomorrow when we go into work you know you have to pretend to be with me until we get him behind bars right" I tell her

"i know" She says sighing

"We should probably move you in here for your safety til this is over" I tell her

"Alright. We can go by my apartment tomorrow. How against animals are you?" She asks with a shy smile

"Why?" I ask

"Well I have a fish aquarium that will need to be moved. It can go in my room. Also I have a dog. He is a husky" She tells me

"Trained?" I ask

"Of course. He went to the best puppy school" She says offended

"i was teasing. Who is going to walk him while your at work?" I ask

"s**t I didn't think about that. My neighbor Mr. Walter walks him for me right now. i usually pick Jesse up after work. Oh my god I have to go get him." She says jumping up

"alright calm down we can go get him tonight. Slip on some shoes and you can pick up some clothes tonight as well. Tomorrow you can leave at lunch time to meet the movers" I tell her

She nods and scrambles to find her keys and shoes. Once she was ready we headed down to my SUV and I drove her over. When we got to her building I walked her in and she knocked on a door and I old man answered.

"Mr. Walter I'm so sorry i'm late" She tells him

"Oh dear it's quiet alright. Jesse and I were just watching some old movie weren't we boy" He says patting the dogs head

"Well thank you for watching him for me. I will be taking him to my new apartment tonight" She tells him

"Your moving?" He asks

"Yes sir" She tells him

"Well Missy you better pop in for a tea once in a while" He tells her sternly

"How could I miss our baseball games. I'll be here as always" She says smiling

"Well Jesse boy I will see you soon be good for your momma. And if you need me to keep him anytime just bring him over" He tells her

"YOu know I will." She says hugging him

He pats her back and she takes the leash and then walks a door over and unlocks the door and steps in and I follow her. She drops the leash and walks into her room closing the door. I take a seat letting her have her time. About twenty minutes later she came out with two suit cases and a bag on her shoulder and she grabbed the leash again and I followed her out. Once everything was locked up I took her bags and we headed back to the penthouse. When we walked in she headed to the front desk.

"How may I help you?" Greg asks her

"Could you find me someone that can walk Jesse here tomorrow while I'm at work?" She asks

"Of course. we have a dog walking service what time?" He asks

"He will need to go out by noon. I can walk him in the morning" She says

"Yes ma'am. What room?" He asks

"Mine Greg" i say speaking up

"Oh of course sir. Anything else?" He asks

"Actually yes i'll be putting the spa to good use tomorrow evening" She says eyeing me

"Once your settled if you will call down they will set everything up for you" Greg tells her

"Thank you Greg." She says

"My pleasure" He says nodding

She smiles at him and we head on up to the penthouse. I took her bags to her room and she walked Jesse around. Once I come back to the living room she was curled up on the couch with Jesse laying beside her.

"Do we have a gym?" She asks

"Yeah" I say

"Can I use it in the morning? I usually run at 4 but being here I'm not comfortable taking a route I don't know that well" she says

"Of course. We have a private gym. It's on the other end of the penthouse." I telll her

"Great. Well we are going to head to bed" She says walking past me

I nod as she passes and I head to bed myself. When I wake the next morning I decide to use the gym like I normally do so I got dressed and walked down to the gym. When I got closer I heard singing. I pushed the door open and found Hailey singing as she jogged on the treadmill. I walked in closing the door and she must of heard me cause she jumped and spun around.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't think I was that loud" SHe says

"You weren't. I workout ever morning" I tell her

She nods and puts her head phones back in and moves over doing her squats. I start on my bench presses and I hear her suck in a breath. I smirk and continue on until I hear a shriek. I jump up and see her laying her back panting. I run over and kneel by her and her face was scrunched up.

"what happened?" I ask

"I pinched a nerve or pulled a muscle" She tells me through gritter teeth

"Where?" I ask

"Back of my right leg" She says

I nod and move down and work my hands up her legs massaging slowly. She whimpers when I hit a certain spot so i work that spot more and more. I stretch her leg out slowly still massaging and then she sighs. After another few minutes I help her to her feet and she walks around a bit.

"s**t I stretch before I run always. That came out of no where" She says wiggling her leg

"It happens. You ok?" I ask

"Yeah. Thanks." She says looking down at her watch

"s**t I got another ten minutes and then I need to shower. I didn't even get to box today" She says pouting

"You box?" I ask in shock

"Yes. You don't get these muscles without it" She says lifting her shirt showing me her stomach muscles

"How the hell?" I ask

"I like to work out. But I eat what I want and still look amazing" She tells me

"Wow. Never would have guessed" I tell her

"Do you mind if I do some tumbling before I shower?" She asks

"Can I watch? I never seen anyone do it?" I say

"I don't care" She says shrugging

She kicks her shoes off and walks to the other end of the gym and takes off running doing flips all kinds of ways. When she got up to me she did a back bend and flipped over and then landed in the splits. She stood up pating and I tossed a water bottle at her. She gulped a bunch down and sighed.

"That was amazing" I tell her

"Thanks. I enjoy it" She says

"You should" I say

"Well i'm off to walk Jesse and then to shower. I'll meet you at the office" she says walking out

By time I made it to the office I was a hour late and Hailey wasn't at her desk. I sat down and soon enough she come walking in and my jaw dropped.

"Fiance you have me stop drooling" She says closing my mouth and kissing me quick

I clear my throat and straightened up and look at her raising a brow. She puts her back to the door and points to her eyes and ears and motions to the door. I nod and place my hands on her hips and pull her to between my legs.

"I can't help it" I growl at her

She smirks and then giggles for the people listening. There is a knock on my door and she spins around to go open it and when she does Mr. Johnson was standing there.

"Mr. J. How nice to see you" Hailey says smiling

"Hailey My Dear so beautiful as always. I hear our boy snatched you up" He tells her

"What can i say it's those blue eyes that does it for me" She says grinning and winking at me

"Ah. My wife says the same thing. why don't you give her a call sometime" He tells her

"Oh I will. I do miss her. Maybe after I finishing moving in with our boy here" She says smiling

"Moving in huh?" He says

"Hey he said I could bring Jesse with me so i was sold" She giggles out

"You and your main man. How little man doing?" He asks

"He is great and a big baby. sad I can't spend more time with him. My neighbor had him more than I did" She frowns

"Well maybe we can fix that" I call to her

She whips around in shock.

"why don't you go on and call the moving company and head on over and take Jesse with you. I'm sure Mr. Walter would love to see him" I tell her

"I can wait til lunch it's not a big deal. But I cleared Friday for us. I wanna go find a dog for Mr. Walter. He got use to Jesse and I feel bad for taking him away" She says with sad eyes

"That's ok. I had nothing for Friday anyways. a three day weekend for us" I tell her

"Your just like me. Those sad eyes get me every time" Mr. Johnson says

"Mr. J I didn't pull the sad eyes" She says pouting

"You my dear are exactly like my wife. But it's ok. Sometimes we need to step back and enjoy a day away." He tells her with a fatherly smile

"Good to know. Hey what do you say to dinner Friday night?" She asks

"We would love to. When and where?" He asks

"OUr place. I'll cook" She says

I raise a brow cause I didn't know she cooked.

"Perfect." He says

"Well i'm off. Honey I will see you later. Don't forget you have to be out of here by noon to meet me" She tells me

"got it. tell Mario to take you where you need to go" I tell her

She nods and walks out closing the door.

"Such a sweetheart" Mr. Johnson says

"she is. I swear she loves that dog more than me though" I say chuckling

"She probably does" He says chuckling

"Anyways what's up?" I ask

"Well I heard about you two and wanted to come say congrats." He tells me

"thank you. She keeps me on my toes that's for sure" I say smiling

"Well i'll let you get to it" He says and leaves

Hailey's POV

Holy s**t I can't believe i'm actually moving in with him. I was packing now and the movers would be here any minute. Someone knocks on the door and I walk over opening the door to see movers.

"Ms. Sanders?" He asks

"That's me. I got most everything packed. I'm working on the last two boxes now" I say letting them in

"Well we were start with these while you finish" He says

I nod and go back to my room and sit on the bed packing.

"hey" I hear

I look up to see Knox watching me.

"Hi" I say

"What's wrong?" He asks

"Just thinking" I say smiling softly

"Your worrying" He says sitting by me

"a bit" I say

"Its going to be ok" He tells me

"Yeah I know" I say

He stands and offers me his hand and I take it. He wraps a arm around my shoulders and kisses my temple and we head to the penthouse.

"Can you just have them place them in my room? I think I'm gonna go for that massage" I say

"Of course." He says

I nod and walk away once my massage was over and I headed up to change and start dinner. I set up my phone on the bluetooth speaker and turn on my Pandora and the music starts. Work From Home starts up and I dance a little and sing along while moving around the kitchen. When I spin around I jump out of my skin.

"Jesus f*****g christ Knox. You just gave me a heart attack" I snap

"Sorry. I called your name but you were zoned out." He tells me smiling

"Dear lord. I need a new heart" I say rubbing my chest

I hear something pop so I spin around and stir what's in the pan. I start swaying to the music again and I hear a chuckle and I freeze.

"What cha cooking?" I hear in my ear

I tense as his body presses into my back and look over my shoulder at him.

"Fajitas." I tell him

"Hmm" He says placing his hands on my hips

I smirk and continue to stir the chicken in the pan. I move over and chop some peppers up to throw in some melted butter to throw in with the chicken. I chop fast and slide it off into it's own pan. And I hear Knox chuckle.

"What?" I ask looking over my shoulder

"Nothing your just so at home in the kitchen" He tells me

"I'm a chef" I tell him tensing

"Why the world are you working for me then?" He asks

"Life happens" I say shrugging

"Hailey" He says

I sigh and look at him and my eyes feel with tears.

"Fine I'm working for you cause my father hates what I do. He made sure I would never work in a restaurant " I say

"Oh Hails. I'm sorry" He says hugging me 

I sniffle and he rubs my back.

"What if I could help with that?" He asks

"How?" I ask

"What if I help you open your own place?" He asks

"Knox I can't ask that of you. Your already helping me with this" I tell him

"Hailey do you love the kitchen?" He asks

"Did you see how easily I lose myself. I love being in there where I can create anything I want" I tell him

"then I know just the place. Let me help you" He says

I look up at him and stretch up on my toes kissing him hard. After a few seconds I rip myself away in shock and embarrassment.

"I'm sorry." I say stepping back

He growls and yanks me to him kissing me hard. Before I knew it I was on the bar with him standing between my legs. I pull back when I hear stuff popping and I jump down and run over to turn the stove off. I fix our plates and i place them on the bar and then i pour our drinks and we take a seat. I watch him take his first bite and grown and I smirk and start eating.

Time skip 3 months later

We had just got the restaurant up and going and tonight was opening night. I was nervous but excited.

"Calm down my love. It's going to go off without a hitch" Knox tells me

I kiss him softly and smile. Ever since that first night I kissed him we have been going strong and my feelings just kept growing for him.

"time to greet everyone before you get busy" He says

I nod and we walk to the front and I smile and shake hands as people enter. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson enter and my eyes feel with tears. I smile and hug them both.

"Good job baby" Mrs. Johnson says in my ear

"Thanks Mrs. J" I tell her softly

"What have I told you young lady" she says sternly

"Fine. Thank you Becky" I say smiling

"Good job My Dear" Mr. J tells me

"Thank you" I tell him

He kisses my forehead and my nerves calm quickly.

"Now what are you going to feed me that my wife can protest about?" He asks me

"It's a surprise" I tell him

"Alright then. Amaze me" He says taking his seat

"Show time" Knox tells me

I nod and head to the kitchen. After 8 hours I was exhausted but happy. When I walked back to the front it was all cleared out except Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. I walk over and sit down and then start clapping.

"You two didn't have to stay" I tell them

"This is your big night of course we did. We are so proud of you. dinner was amazing" Becky tells me

Tears well up in my eyes and spill over and they look at me in shock.

"Baby you ok?" Knox asks

"I'm fine. Happy tears. I just wish my own dad felt that way" I say leaning my head on his shoulder

"it's his loss. We are proud of you" Becky says

"Thank you" I say smiling

"Hailey Gracelyn" I hear from the door and I tense

My father stomps over to me fuming and I grow angry.

"What?" I snap

"What did I say about this?" He yells

"I don't give a f**k. I'm doing what I love and I refuse to let you tell me what I can and can't do. I'm a grown woman. Besides you can't take this from me. I own the building and My fiance owns the land. Oh b y the way William his is Knox Bennet my finace." i say smirking

My fathers face falls and I grin.

"What the f**k" He growls

"Get the f**k out and don't come back. If you do I will get a restraining order. Mom would be so disappointed in you. I'm so glad she's gone and can't witness this s**t" I yell at him

He looks at me in shock and Mr. J leads him out locking the door. my legs give out and Knox catches me.

"it's ok baby. I'm so proud of you" He tells me

"Can we go home?" I ask

"Of course. let me go tell rivers he's closing up tonight" he says helping me sit down

I nod and take a seat and I feel someone grab my hand. I look at Becky and she smiles at me.

"We want to speak to you about something" She tells me

"Alright" I say

"well you know Roger and I don't have children." She says

"Yes I know" I say tilting my head looking at her

"well we were wondering if you would be ours?" she asks with a shaking voice

My bottom lip trembles and I rush over crying and hugging her tightly. I sob into her shoulder and I feel someone kiss the top of my head.

"Baby please stop crying" roger says

I sniffle and lean back and Becky wipes my face and I smile.

"I take that as a yes" Becky says smiling

"Of course it's a yes" I tell her

"It's about time you two asked her" Knox says behind me

"You knew?" I ask

"No but I had suspicions. Roger always talks about you being like his daughter and then when Becky whispered in your ear earlier it hit me" He tells me

I smile and he wraps his arms around me and we head home.

2 months later

I had to work late tonight and I was dead tired. I was finally on the elevator on the way up to the penthouse. When I entered Jesse met me and I smiled and petted him softly. I headed towards our room but when i pushed the door open i didn't expect to find Knox with another woman. I quietly shut the door and ran down to my old room and packed my clothes. I wrote a quick note and grabbed Jesse and I left without looking back. I quickly called Rivers to let him know he was in charge for a while and not to tell anyone he had talked me.
