the forsaken Forrest
we received orders from the high priests of the church of featherlock. to go into the forsaken Forrest to find a child that had went missing and has been for days now. and as known this Forrest is no stranger to death. for these woods run rampid with lycans bandits and assassin's. I valcon along with a well selected sqaudron of my dearest and trusted friends. Thrane, Dante, Luther, and valkerie. Thranes skills come from his past of being a well dominating street brawler that was noticed by the church for his skills at the age of 17. Luther was a well trained assasin at the age of 12. but was sadly forced to kill his parents to spare his sister's life. and saught revenge on the people who trained him and forced him to do such a tragidy. Dante was a poor back alley boy took in by the church and trained for such occasions. Valkerie is a well proclaimed preistest and archer. I Valcon have been well trained in swordsmanship and many other skills. As we travel deeper into the Forsaken Forrest a particular sound caught Dante's attetion. A sound we all were formiliar with. "Lycans" proclaimed Dante as we gathered together to form our ranks. "what shall we do Valcon" asked Valkerie. "As we always do we shall survive!" I replied while unsething my blade. As the sound of man like paws continued to stampede approaching closer to us. I had a sudden flash back. a flash back reflecting the night my parents and younger brother had been butchered before me by Savage lycans such as these. my heart filled with rage as a glimpse of the first lycan lunged off a hillside in front of me. it toppled me off my horse i immediately stood wilding my my sword. I smote the beast looking around my caliegs were finish the rest of the beasts off. then suddenly the lycan I struck with my sword with it's dying breathe let out a gastily crying howl. "This isn't over, mount the steeds and countine forward we must find the child and quickly." I yelled out as the sound of more wolves approached us closer with the howls of blood thirsty wolves filled the air. "captain we must not let the beats follow us to the child!" yelled Luther with a concerned voice. "Valkerie" I yelled. "yes captain?" replied Valkerie. "use your scent repealing arrows to divert the lycans off our trail and hurry with it!" I ordered to her. "yes captain." replied Valkerie as she shot the arrows into the ground as the repellent septed into the soil covering our scent. as the lycans lost our trail we approached a small dune in the side of a hill. I sniffed the air catching the scent of the child. "the child is here we've found him." I uttered out as I unmounted my steed. As I approached the dune the child muttered out "stay away don't touch me leave me alone!" "be calm child we where sent here by the order of the church of featherlock to bring you home to your family!" I replied. "what home what family? they where killed and slaughtered before my eyes by those monsters out there. we traveled threw here to return home from our trip to the town of holmesdale." explained the child while crying as I picked him up out of the dune. " then we shall take you to the church and receive further instructions." I proclaimed as I lifted him on my horse and mounted myself. "come let us return to featherlock and retrieve further instructions as of what to do with the child." I ordered out to the rest. "SIR" replied the sqaud as we began to ride off towards featherlock. As we aproached closer to featherlock I remembered the child speaking of his parents being killed by lycans. and yet another flashback of the night my family died before my eyes had flashed in my head. I just pray the child had not met the same curse as I did on that dreadful night. as we promptly approached the cathedral to take the child into the councilmens chambers Thrane had a bothered look upon his face. "Thrane my dear friend what troubles you so?" I asked concerningly to him as he lowered his head to the look at the ground. unmounting our horses he replied "it's my past Valcon it haunts me to this day all the men I have beaten down for money, ending lives just to make it another day. it bothers me as a man looking back I fell as no less then a monster. the same monster we fight constantly to survive!" replied Thrane while trying to hold back his emotions for me not to see them. "my friend you are no monster it was not your fault you had to survive how you were taught by a degrading father and a drunken one for that, you are a good man you took care of your mother till her dying breathe. because your father was always to drunk to do so. let not your past make u fell so destrot of yourself." I replied consoling my friend as we aproached the council's chamber doors. "thank you Valcon you've always known the words to say to consol those around you." replied Thrane. "your welcome Thrane." I commented as we opened the chamber doors. as we aproached the councilmen of the church I kept the child by myside and uttered to the preists. "dear councilmen of featherlock cathedral, we have word that this childs family has been killed by lycans, and he has no where else to go, what shall we do with him until further notice?" " Valcon our dearest warrior preist, as we see the situation is dire we shall let him stay in your chamber with you. he shall be your shadow so to say. he's your responsibility now." replied the head priest. "thank you father." I humbly replied back. "but don't fail us Valcon it would be a shame to have to end this hopingly good future with this child over something drastic if you understand my meaning." uttered out the high preist. "understood father I shall keep a close aware eye on him, if I am to see any tale signs of rabidness in him I shall handle it accordingly, if for that fact he is infected!" I replied trying not to be angered by his remark to me over the child."come boy let us be off to my chambers." I ordered to the child as we walked out of the chambers towards the the dormitories." what did they mean by what they said of ending the hopingly good future of me Valcon?" asked the boy concerned for himself. " nothing lad let it be we shall lay down for the night and rest up, and tomorrow we shall beging small tactics training and defense, and see what skills you master best in along your days of training." I replied as we entered my chamber and laid out my luggage upon the table. as I took off my armor and weapons I became concerned over the child's safety. and as he fell asleep I looked over him to see if he had been beaten. and sadly I found a scratch scar on his shoulder. I cringed for the child cause as I fairly knew that was just enough to infect the body and make you into a lycan. I know this all to well for the curse also lies within my body as well. sometimes I wonder to myself if that's the only reason the church keeps me is for my gift as they consider it. not a gift not a blessing but a curse and I hate it so. "but enough concern of this for now I must rest!" I spoke to myself laying down closing my eyes I fall into a deep sleep hoping to not dream of the dreadful night my family died. and hoping that maybe it's just a dream that the boys scratch was just a blurry vision from my lack of sleep.
