“We have to tell him,” Nathan and I said at the same time. I sighed as I leaned back in my seat. I held onto my cup for dear life as a wave of nerves washed over me.
“What if he hates us?” I asked softly. Nathan was silent for a moment. Then he sighed.
“I think not telling him will only make things worse,” he said, and I knew he was right. I had known it for days, but hearing it out loud made the knot in my stomach tighten.
“I think he might hate us for this,”
“Maybe at first,” Nathan said gently. “But hopefully he will understand eventually,” I turned my body fully toward him and rested my elbow on the back of the couch.
