Angela's POV

The whole Cold Moon Pack knows how much I adore Beta Willard. But at our wedding, in front of everyone, he called me by his ex-girlfriend’s name—Jennifer Dixon. He looked flustered, and in the audience, Jennifer had red eyes.

I was completely done with Beta Willard.

Under the sympathetic gazes of the crowd, I ran from the wedding, only to accidentally stumble into the chaos of another runaway bride's wedding. In our shared misery, I became his temporary bride.

Cassian's POV

My grandfather, Orlando, put me in a tough spot. I was given the ultimatum: marry, or lose my right to inherit the title of Alpha King.

Now, I have to find a temporary wife before my grandfather’s birthday.

But at the wedding, my temporary bride ran away with her mate.

Just when I was stuck, Angela—my fated mate—appeared in a wedding dress, ready to steal the wedding.

She loudly declared, “If she won’t marry him, then I will!”

After the wedding:

Angela soon realizes: This is a marriage that can’t be divorced.

Alpha Cassian secretly rejoices: This unexpected twist is the jackpot of Moon Godness.

Chapter 2
Angela's POV I ran blindly through the streets, the weight of my wedding gown dragging me down, tears streaming down my face. I couldn’t believe it. My mate cheated on me during my own wedding—was there anything more absurd than this? I had no idea how far I had run, but suddenly, my high heels caught on something, and pain shot up my foot. It was only then that I finally took in my surroundings. I seemed to have ended up at the hotel where my wedding was being held. As I stepped through the doors, I heard the officiant announce, “Welcome, the bride and groom!” I pushed the double doors open through my blurry vision… and saw the bride and groom standing on the stage. Confusion hit me hard, and I blinked rapidly. Did I walk into the wrong hall? I lifted my dress, pulled out my phone from the silk garter on my thigh, and checked the hotel’s event schedule. I stepped outside and looked around. This was the East Hall. My wedding was supposed to be in the South Hall. I must have been so dizzy from the shock of Willard’s betrayal. The music playing was the same song from my wedding, “A Thousand Years.” I stood there, breathless, watching the happy couple exchange their vows, and my heart shattered into a million pieces. Exhausted and thirsty, I needed a place to sit down. I had nowhere else to go. The banquet hall was packed with people, but I pushed through the crowd until I found an empty chair at the bar, and sat down. “Who’s this? Why is she dressed like that at someone else’s wedding?” I overheard someone whispering. I didn’t care. "Can I get you something to drink?" A handsome young man at the bar asked me. "Cosmopolitan," I replied, my voice weak. "Coming right up," he nodded and turned to make my drink. I absentmindedly gazed around at the celebrating guests, my heart heavy with grief. “Here you go,” the man set my drink in front of me. I weakly smiled, then drained the glass in one go. “Another, please.” "Easy there, girl. The night’s just getting started," he chuckled. "Or you'll regret it in the morning." “I won’t regret it like I did today,” I insisted, pushing the empty glass toward him. He nodded, giving me another drink. This time, I sipped it slowly, my mind drifting back to the first time I met Willard. When I was five, my mother was killed during an attack by rogues while trying to protect Willard. On the day of her funeral, the sky was overcast, the rain falling in steady, mournful drizzles. I stood at her grave, crying uncontrollably. Uncle Dean arrived with Willard, and he took my hand. “From now on, we are your family. I will always protect you.” He was kind to me, never letting me suffer. As I got older, entering adolescence, I began to develop feelings for him. Now that I think back, the first time I saw Jennifer, she was already part of Willard’s team. She was always the most popular girl. Even after she left Willard, plunging him into despair, he could never forget her. It wasn’t until my 18th birthday that Willard told me he was my mate. I was surprised, especially since I was Wolfless. For someone destined to be Beta, I wasn’t an ideal match, but somehow, it all happened. I muttered to myself, draining my glass and asking the bartender for another. I had been so blind, so naïve. I gave him all my love, all my trust. He never turned me away, but he never initiated anything either. I thought that was just his nature. Now I realize the truth—it was because he didn’t love me. He wasn’t the one for me. As I dreamed of building a life with him, he was still in love with Jennifer. But now it was too late. I had run away from my wedding. Now, I was nothing—just a Wolfless girl despised by my father and stepmother, without a mate, without a family. I had nothing left. The noise around me suddenly stopped, and curiosity made me lean forward to see what was happening on stage. When I saw the groom, my breath hitched in my chest. He looked like he had fallen straight from the heavens. His black hair was neatly styled, perfectly complementing his ruggedly handsome face. His smooth forehead and thick brows made him appear dangerously alluring. His stunning green eyes were framed by long, dark lashes. From where I sat, his strong nose, full lips, and high cheekbones were striking. His chiseled jawline made him look impossibly perfect. His lips parted in a charming smile, but he didn’t reveal his flawless white teeth. I glanced at his outfit—a sharp suit, the kind every girl dreams of seeing on a groom. Shaking my head, I grabbed my Cosmopolitan. I snapped out of my daze at the thought of his well-toned body and handsome face. Maybe it was because my gaze had lingered too long, but he suddenly looked in my direction. The wedding ceremony continued. “We gather here today to celebrate the marriage of Cassian Payne and Nydia Skinner. If anyone objects, speak now, or forever hold your peace,” the officiant asked, stepping forward to cue the kiss. I held my breath, knowing this was just the normal routine of a wedding, but I didn’t expect what happened next. Suddenly, the door burst open with a loud crash. A tall, lean man with deep brown hair, wearing a white shirt and beige jacket, stepped in, shouting, “I object!” “I won’t let this marriage happen! Nydia is the love of my life. Rejecting her was my biggest mistake,” he declared, striding up to the stage and taking the bride’s hand. “So, sweetheart, will you give me another chance?” “Yes…” Nydia started to speak, but was cut off. “What are you doing? Are you out of your mind? My daughter will not marry a poor soldier. If you marry him, you will be disowned,” her father shouted. “I don’t care. It’s time I get what I want… Yes, Ashley, I will marry you. I love you so much…” Nydia said, then jumped into the man’s arms, kissing him. The man removed the ring from her finger and replaced it with his own. Together, they ran down the aisle, leaving the ceremony behind.
