CH 9 Colin Pov

Claire was acting very strange while we walked around the pack. He told her about the pack house. That it had 5 floors. Ground floor was his office, meeting rooms, the dining hall, kitchen, grand ballroom for events, Logan school room. 1st floor was spare offices, Logan playroom, and guest rooms for visitors.

Floor 2- 5 was his and his business partners' floors, where they lived with their families and visited families. He left out the basement as that's where the war room is, and cells are.

He walked her round to the back of the pack house where another pack house looking building was, and he explained this was the entertainment zone. It had a cinema, bowling, mini golf, lazor tag, arcade, softplay, swimming pool, and gym. All kids needed.

She looked impressed but very much kept her distance. What's happened. He showed her where other pack members lived, houses, apartments building, the schools, hospital, the shops they have here, night clubs, bars. Everything was a horrible 2-hour walk round. Not making eye contact with him

He tried to buy her something but she was having none of it. It was torturing him and Pike their mate was keeping him at arms length it was irritating. She got a phone call and walked away. He used his hearing to hear what she said. To hear her say she was going to leave, it took all his strength to keep Pike inside of him.

"She will not be aloud to leave," Pike said.

Pike she doesn't understand that she is human. He was curious to see why her grandma asked what the community was called. She said she had friends coming, and all couldn't stay here. We have humans here all the time. The pack know when to hide their shifter side and where to go if they need to release their beasts.

He'll have to bring it up with her. She hung up, and he couldn't keep his annoyed look on his face. She walked off to look around herself. He mind-link his gamma Nathan where you? Nathan laughed.

"Behind you, by the trees," Nathan said.

He turned to see his gamma leaning on the tree smirking. What are you doing here?

"Watching my luna. It's my job, remember. I'm just watching trying to get to know her. She's nervous you make her nervous, but Logan is petrifying her. " Nathan stated.

What why?

"I don't know. Do you want me to find out casually bump into her. I can be subtle," Nathan added.

Yes, do that and let him know why. He nodded and walked off following her.He turned round the see Logan looking at him. Are you okay?

"Yes, can we go the soft play?" Logan asked.

Sure, son, but can he ask you something. What did you Claire talk about when he left to go to his office?

"Am I in trouble?" he asked.

No son was just wondering

"I asked her if she liked you and if?" he paused.

If?

"If you were getting married and maybe more babies. I know she's your second chance mate did I say something bad?" he said.

No Logan, but you know she's human, and we do things very quickly here. That might be a bit forward for her. It's our way of living, not hers.

"I'm sorry I ruined it, haven't? She's been acting weird since then," he admitted.

He started to cry, and oh, come here. You haven't done anything wrong. You're just a little too honest with your thoughts. That's all

"I like her daddy. I don't know why, but I do," he said.

He does too, son. We need to take it slowly with her. He nodded in agreement. He still looked sad, tho. Come on, let's go to the softplay before he needs to get back to work. He smiled

"You will come in?" he asked, excited.

Yes, he will come in. You know it's not made for adults. We are too big. He started to chase his son. All the way back to the pack house. His mother was waiting for him on the steps.

"How is it going?" Mother asked.

He mind linked her. It's not good. She's going to leave tomorrow. Logan got excited and asked her if marriage and babies were going to happen. He thinks it's freaked her out, too forward for her. His mother exhaled.

"He has his great grandfather gift of foresight she can sense something going to happen before it does," Mother admitted.

Isn't he a bit young for that?.

"The gift can appear at any age, son. More as a child, it's all natural and innocent he doesn't realise what he's said. " Mother said.

He knows he's upset her but doesn't understand why he likes her.

"He'll feel that pull towards her without realising it. It will sort itself out. How about I take him out for a bit." Mother said. She cut the link.

"Logan, how about you come shopping with grandma? we can get you those trainers you need and possibly a new toy? " Mother said.

Logon face lit up.

"Daddy, can I please?" he begged.

Yes, he'll agree to anything that gets him out of softplay. His mother walked off with Logan and heard her say.

"Let's go spend grandfather money." Mother said.

He heard his father walk out of the house and say.

"What else is new?" Father said.

All laughed. He stood on the steps, watched all 3 of them get into his father's land rover, and drive away into town. He exhaled what's a day. Found Alec sat at his desk. Making yourself comfortable, beta?.

"Well, when you're not here, I'm in charge, so i finished the ordering for you and had Martin look at these plans for the New york store." Alec said.

Thanks in sat down in the chair infront his desk.

"What's wrong? Talk to me, " Alec said.

It's fine, just some things a beta can't fix.

"Not going well with Claire?. She's attracted to you, Nathan sensed that much, " Alec said.

He did?

"Yes, but obviously, our ways will seem weird to her, but once she knows and understands what we are, it will seem less weird." Alec said.

He knows, thanks for finishing. Don't think he has the brain power for it today.

"That's because you haven't claimed your Luna. It's distracting you." Alec said.

He doesn't want to force her to spend time with him. She is clearly overwhelmed by his and Logan behaviour she probably thinks we are all crazy.

"Well, we are a bit. I'd say, " Alec said, laughing.

True. He had Nathan follow and bond with her. He hasn't said anything yet. Hopefully, that means it's going well and getting along. He should be able to sense her mood and calm it.

"He will have faith that it will all work out in the end. Always does. Maybe our Luna can find our mates. We are all in our 30s now. I want a mate." Alec said.

He knows, well, hopefully she can. Then Nathan and Tyrone walked in together. Nathan with a smile on his face. What's happened?

"She lovely, I like her," he growled. "Not like that, boss. She's nice, smart, and friendly. You have a lot in common. She didn't tell me details, but I think she's had a hard few years and just needed to find herself, and I think what Logan said was reminded of it. She is okay. I convinced her to stay till Friday, " Nathan said.

Why Friday?

"Well, she has a video call with her 3 best friends on Friday. She's meant to be telling them where she staying they are coming from her birthday. Staying with her for 2 weeks before returning home and her continuing her journey." Nathan said.

Okay, so we need to convince her to stay before Friday and allow her friends to come stay too, and hopefully, by the full moon in two weeks, she'll agree to be his Luna.

"Yes, that was my thinking, too," Nathan said.

How did you leave her?

"Laughing, she funny, found me funny, so that's a win." Nathan said.

Okay, good. hopefully, the meal will go well. You all join us it might make her feel more comfortable.

"Sure, boss, whatever you want, " Nathan said.

Tyrone and Nathan went back to work, and Alec went to see his grandma about something. He wouldn't tell him what all that it might help him win his Luna over.

He went back to work and a couple of hours later. Alec appeared in his office with a tray of food that smelt very sweet. What's that?

"I went to see my grandma remember she British she's from London. I asked what a sweet treat someone from the Lake district would eat. She said sticky toffee pudding, we got a recipe, and Troy made it. He loves a good dessert, so he is happy to make it. Go take it, " Alec said.

Do you think it will work?

"Yes, and you can at least lay eyes on her," Alec said.

He grabbed the tray and walked to the Luna suite knocked. After a few seconds, she answered the door she was in a robe. Oh, she looked hot.

"Hi, is everything okay? I was just about to go for a swim if that's okay,?" she said.

Of course it is. He just wanted to give you something a sweet treat, and I thought you might be feeling homesick a little. Here, he pulled the plate from behind his back, lifted the cover, and they was a toffee sticky pudding and a small jug of custard. It did smell delicious.

She stood staring at the plate, then him then back to the plate. She did not say a word. Sorry, was he wrong? do you not like this? She smiled.

"Yes, I like it. This is very sweet of you, thank you. Would you like to try some?" she asked.

Yes, he would. He walked in and sat at the table she went into the kitchen and came back with 2 forks and 2 spoons, an extra bowl. She sat across from him, halfed the sponge, and poured custard over it. Gave him the dish. He tried it he wasn't a fan of toffee but it was really nice. That's really nice, he told her. He hasnt had it before she smiled.

"You're welcome. My grandma would make it when I was sad to cheer me up, so I guess you can imagine at a dramatic hormonal teenager I had one weekly, she said, laughing

He laughed.Well, we will have more made that was delicious. He only ever had toffee sauce on ice cream, never an actual cake.

"It is nice glad you like it." she said.

So he felt you were upset or stressed about something earlier. He thinks he knows why? he spoke to Logan. He's sorry about what he said was a lot, very forward. Let him defend Logan a little. Most people in our community have known each other their whole lives, and soon as they become of age, they marry, and soon, children.

So he's kind of seen it like that his whole life. He's sorry he put that on you, Logan is sorry. He will admit he likes you, Claire. He knows he's only just met you, but he feels you're a good person, and he would like to get to know you better. No pressure, just friendship. What do you say?
