Chapter 40: The Plan To Trap Wild Chickens.

1545 Words

Before anyone could discuss further, Eric took the initiative, gripping a wooden branch tightly, his eyes lighting up: "Let me handle this first." Mary moved in close as well, clutching a small rock, ready to throw it at the flock of chickens. Eric crept low, but before he could get close enough, he suddenly stood up and hurled the branch forcefully at the flock. Mary hurriedly threw rocks in quick succession, hoping to stun them. But the wild chickens reacted with lightning speed. At the slightest sound, the whole flock burst into a frenzy, flapping their wings and scattering in all directions. The rooster darted straight into the bushes, the hen flapped her wings and led her chicks weaving through the thick grass. The chicks scattered everywhere, turning the whole clearing into chaos.
