Alpha Lincoln It had been over a week and had finally got the go ahead to talk to this mysterious woman they call Abby. I knocked on her door. “It’s open.” She said as if she knew it was me. Her voice sent shivers down my spine. As though she held an aura of authority. I could tell the moon goddess had chosen well; she was dominant and everyone should bow down to her, but not one of them had. I entered the room, closing the door behind me. I looked over at her and she almost took my breath away. She was a picture, medium built, not thin, not too big. Just perfect Luna material. I couldn’t think why that alpha asshole didn’t treat her as one. She was simply perfect. Her green eyes shone and sparkled in the morning sun. “When you’ve stopped eye f*****g me you can tell me who you are.” Shit. I cleared my throat. “Sorry for the intrusion mam my name is Lincoln. Alpha Lincoln and this is my pack. I hope you are enjoying your stay..” “Abigail, Abby for short. And yes I am thank you alpha. I’d like to thank you for letting me and my children stay and for saving me.” “All in a day’s work, Abby.” She smiled at me. “Can you tell me why you were so close to my pack’s border?” “I apologise for that. You see I had a second chance mate thinking he was better than the first. I agreed to join him and his pack instead of keep running. I thought he was my escape from the treturies I had left behind. I was wrong. Everything changed after I had our first born. He began treating me like an outsider, not a Luna just like the pack that had welcomed me warmly with open arms until he turned every single one of them against me. I almost lost my second child to him because he couldn’t keep his filthy hands to himself. He agreed to help me bring up the twins but that all changed once they turned ten they are now both sixteen they haven’t had it easy.” I nodded. “My daughter had an argument with the beta that day and I knew then we had to get out of there. We didn’t belong there. He had made it quite clear I wasn’t Luna material and he had chosen another to take my place and I was to be demoted to an omega. That didn’t go well with me, or Storm.” “So you ran?” “We did and I’m sorry we’ve caused you any inconvenience. We’ll be on our way now. I’ve got the all clear.” “Nonesece.” I looked into her eyes and she was hiding something I needed to find out what I was. “Tell me about your life before him, who was your fated mate?” “I’d rather not talk about him?” “Why? Was he that bad?” “Worse. I wasn’t wanted in my pack. He was one of my tourmenters and he thought it would be funny to mark me and take everything away from me. He was the beta of the pack and an asshole. I tried to reject him so he decided to take my virginity and mark me. That day I ran, rejecting his pathetic ass and severed all ties with the pack that never wanted me there in the first place. I ran straight into rouge Kings territory. He took me in making me his queen. The day I shifted the war between the rogues and my old pack began so I ran.” “Who are you?” “What do you mean, I don’t understand?” “Why were you so important to all of them?” “I don’t know.” She lied. My eyes turned black, my wolf was taking over. She cowered back. Abby “Show yourself!” He grinned in a commanding tone. “Show him Abby I trust him.” “Are you sure?” “Yes.” “Show yourself!” He snapped And all I could do was obey. He was an alpha after all. I slid up off the bed. Well here goes nothing. I felt my bones crack as my arms transformed into front legs, my left into hing legs, my body full of white fur, my face into the shape of a snout for a nose, a mouth with sharp incisors. My hands were big paws with purple fur, my eyes the same colour. I looked at him. He was an inch taller than me in his wolf form with black fur and cold blue eyes. He bowed. This was new. “I will protect my Luna with my life. I promise you my pack will do everything in our power to protect you from harm and intruders.” “Thank you, but you have no need to.” “There is every need to, my Luna. If your true identity is shown to those after power and glory they will do anything to get that power for themselves. I pledge to be your protector.” He bowed. “Shift.” I shifted naked He stood inches away from me naked, this was awkward. Storm “This isn’t a good idea.” I tried to convince my human. I trusted this alpha more than any other, enough to show him who we really were. I know I’m not one who trusts that easily and have built a wall around my human to stop her making mistakes, but this f’n ridiculous. She needs someone strong around her and I know this alpha will give her just that. He respects the moon goddess and he respects me as her descendant. She needs to realise that this alpha will protect her till his last breath. I am not sure how he got to know who we were, but I’m glad he did. I know this alpha and his pack will protect us from the storm that is about to come. She just needs to realise that he is on our side and he is not our enemy, but our protector. “We have to do this Storm. It’s best to be as far away from here as possible. I can sense something is off.” “There’s nothing off Abby. I trust him with everything inside me. He’s not like the others. You have to trust me on this.” “I wish I could Storm. But we need to go. We need to get away from here. I don’t feel safe, he’s near.” “The Rogue king?” “Yes, but not just him, I know you feel them too. We need to go and hide, we need to be safe and out of sight. I don’t want this pack fighting our battles then don’t need our s**t to be involved in their lives.” “He will protect us, Abby.” “How do you know that Storm? How can you possibly know that?” “I can feel it even if you can’t.” “That maybe but you can’t just go on a feeling storm things just don’t feel right here.” “They’ll protect us. He’ll protect us.” “Maybe, but I don’t like this feeling I’m having. I need to get out of here. I need to breathe.” I sighed, my human was surely stubborn after that asshole alpha. I would have thought that she’d be grateful that at least one alpha respected her, respected us and what we stood for but I’ve never had a chance to explain to her her importance, her heirs’ importance. We need a serious talk. “Please don’t argue with me, Storm. My mind is made up.” “Fine.” I huffed, irritated. “But once we find somewhere to stay we are talking, young lady.” She laughed. “Sure old lady.” Damn cheek, we’re the same age. “Mind link Serenity and Sergo and we’ll get on our way.” “Are you sure about this Abby?′ “I am something is off and I don’t intend to stick around to find out. ” “Okay.” I said before minlinking Serenity and Sergo. “They’re on their way.” I nodded The twins came running into the room. “What’s going on mom, why did you call for us? Did you relapse?” I chuckled they’re always looking out for their mother and never themselves. “I’m fine, but we are getting out of here.” “Why?” They groaned, in unison. I chuckled. these two, they’re proper twins. They know exactly what each other is thinking. And when the other is hurting. “Why are we going mom?” “We like it here mom.” “Something is off with this place. I just don’t trust anyone here, even if Storm does. We need to get out, I can’t breathe.” “We trust you mom. Whatever you decide we are happy with.” “Thanks. We need to get outta here before the alpha or anyone comes looking.” “How are we exactly going to get out of there mom?” I looked after the window and smiled. “Follow me.” They nodded and followed Abby. She opened the window which led onto the balcony. We slipped out one by one, closing the window. We looked down at least there were no guards around. They all jumped, changing into their wolves and ran across the grounds keeping an eye out for the alpha or the pack until we made it into the forest. We had to keep going. Whatever was heading our way wasn’t good. We headed over the stream and passed the pack’s borders as we heard howling. s**t, they found out we were all gone. This wasn’t good, but I knew that we could outrun that pack. My old pack hadn’t found us in sixteen years neither would this one. We continued running through the woods until we came upon a hut it would do for tonight but we had to continue in the morning to find a safe place for us to lay low. I had to musk our scent. It was one thing I had learned to do to keep enemies at bay. I wasn’t entirely happy about this situation, but I had to trust my human when she said she felt something off. Though I trusted their Alpha. I wasn’t entirely sure that I could trust his pack; it was like they were planning something and that something wasn’t good. We looked up at the hut then Abby linked Serenity and Sergio and we all changed back into our human form heading into the hut.
