Even though the room was in disarray, Adrian and Sophie's tension was more obvious. Sophie sat on the edge of the couch, her arms encircling her as though they would protect her from the threat that had destroyed their haven.
Adrian's shoulders were stiff as he commanded into his phone while standing near the smashed balcony doors. Even though Sophie was aware that he wasn't aiming it at her, the low, controlled growl in his voice was enough to make her wince.
"Shut down all exits," he commanded. "I want the report in my hands within an hour, and I want all CCTV footage from the last 48 hours reviewed." He stopped and listened. "No, that isn't sufficient. For this building, double the security detail. No errors.
