Standing in the stately study of her father's home, Sophie gripped the edge of his desk with shaking hands. The air was heavy with tension, and the room had a subtle scent of old leather and cigar smoke. Henry, her father, reclined back in his chair, his face composed yet strategic.
"How are you related to Victoria?" Sophie's voice was sharp and uncompromising as she demanded.
