The Ghost's Return
In front of the estate, the automobile slowed to a stop. It was gigantic, too opulent, too faultless, as though it were supposed to intimidate. The mansion was lighted at night by golden lights and beautiful shrubs along the interminable stone driveway.
Adrian's fists folded. It had been years since he had visited. He never dreamed that he would have to return to this awful land.
Sophie placed a hand on his arm. "Are you certain of this?"
His jaw was folded as he turned to face her. "No. But, I have no other option.
She clamped her fingers around his. "Then we work together on this."
He gave a nod. “Stay close to me. No matter what he says, don’t believe a word without proof.”
