Adrian pulled Sophie into his arms as soon as they walked into their penthouse. As though he were concerned she would slink away, he clutched her hard, almost desperately.
He muttered, "You might have died tonight," against her hair. His speech was gruff and unvarnished in passion.
Closed her eyes, and inhaled the scent of home, warmth, and his fragrance. Still, home was no longer safe.
