Ghosts of the Past
Theme: Unfinished Business
Sophie looked at the note, her hands shaking. The words scrawled over the white, spotless paper looked so innocent. “You believed it was finished?"...made her tremble. The message was heavy, oppressive, and hung in the air.
Adrian stood beside her, his face stiffening as his eyes darted from Sophie's wide, uneasy eyes to the note. His entire body exuded a stiffness that reflected her apprehension, and his mouth was compressed.
"Who sent this?" Sophie asked in a tremulous said.
Adrian didn't answer right away. Instead, when he reached for the note, his eyes narrowed. He flipped it over, searching for a clue, a return address, anything that would lead to the solution.
There were no marks on the envelope. Not a clue. No indicatio
