Prologue
A thousand years ago, Omskak himself - the god of transformation - blessed a few chosen people. He endowed them with immense power, unlike anything our world has ever seen, and gave them the power to transform themselves into giant dragons.
They were tasked with ending the wars that had ravaged the land for many years and restoring peace and balance among the people. They eventually succeeded, but not for long.
A new generation of dragons craved power as much as humankind, and so began the Dragon War, which continues to this day.
However, this war destroyed far more than humans could ever destroy on their own. It has taken everything from them - their homes, their family, their friends - and Adalia is now ruled only by poverty, panic, and fear.

Eloise is struggling to find enough money to support herself and her mother. The duke's young son has taken an interest in her. She hopes that one day he might marry her and lift her family out of poverty. Little does she know that one visit to the forest will turn her life upside down.
Seventy-three years ago, the dragon prince Daero was banished from his own home by his uncle, who killed the dragon king - his father and forcibly usurped the throne and plunged Adalia into war. To survive and regain his strength, the prince was forced to retreat to his family's distant home. Because one day he will return to reclaim his throne.
But what will happen when their destinies intertwine and lead them on a journey neither of them ever expected?
