Rogue attack

El’s POV (Can’t type El’s full name everytime hehe)

One by one started to come and greet me. They genuinely seemed to be pleased and happy that I came back to the pack. I was happy with the response that I was quickly accepted. But something in me was stirring. Some gut feeling that told me something bad was about to happen. Suddenly, my body went rigid, and my vision blacked out. In the blackness, I saw a vision, a city in the middle of the forest, being attacked by some feral looking wolves and they were trying to enter the borders. The wolves of the city were fighting them with all their might.

I woke up with someone shaking me rigidly. I could feel many eyes on me. Nicola was the nearest one, fear and worry clearly written over her face. She looked like she was about to faint. “What happened, my lady? Are you okay?” she asked me. Then I explained to her what happened. Even before I completed my sentence, I could hear howls, but they were getting away from us. Suddenly, the doors flew open and a young boy came running inside. He quickly went up to uncle Henry and whispered something in his ear. Even to our oversensitive ears, we couldn’t hear what was going on.

Uncle Henry suddenly went rigid and looked at me like I grew another head. He nodded at the boy and turned towards me with a confused and astonished look. He asked me then, “El, dear, did you see any of the wolves crossing the border in your vision?” I shook my head in a No and was utterly confused. What was going on? Then, uncle Henry immediately addressed everyone before us, “Nicola, Cole , gather 30 of our strongest warriors. The Royal Blue Swan pack is under rogue attack and they are trying to cross the border. Rest of you, please continue joining our princess to the lunch, but warriors, double the patrol team and time. You are dismissed for now.”

Cole’s POV

Ever since, I met my lady, princess Eleanor, I saw that she was something different. I knew her father, his highness, King William, to be a kind and just man, but if he was ever crossed, then he was totally different. Though I did not share with anyone, till now, I had some powers in me, which gave me the ability to sense the strength and power in the wolf or person standing next or opposite to me.

“She is different. A very high power creature, more than we can anticipate”, my wolf Rex told me, in our first meeting of the princess. “But she doesn’t know it. Her wolf is not fully matured. Such creatures, mature only when they shift for the first time. When they meet their mates.” he added. I understood him. I kept it to myself the information. Then I was asked by alpha Henry to go to the Ms. Eleanor’s apartment and fetch all her belongings, along with a maid, Victoria, who was living with her. I took the address from alpha, who got it instead from Ms. Eleanor.

As soon as I reached the apartment, I was hit by a smell so sweet, that I felt that I was run over by a truck. It was like freshly mowed lawn and the smell of earth after a rain. I knew it, it was my mate’s scent. I quickly rang the apartment’s door bell and it was answered by a young woman. She was a human, to my surprise. My wolf Rex was jumping up and down in my head like a puppy which saw a bone in its owner’s hand. His tongue was hanging outside to the side and was grinning from ear to ear, saying again and again, mate, mate, mate. Oh shut your mouth. You look like you are about to drool all over the place, I scolded him. I didn’t want my mate to be scared of us.

I quickly composed myself, though I was grinning from ear to ear myself, I quickly extended my hand, just to feel the skin of my mate. “Hi, I’m Cole, my boss Mr. Henry and Ms. Eleanor has sent me to fetch Ms. Eleanor’s belongings along with you. You’ll be joining my lady and my boss on their trip.” She took my hand to introduce herself, that’s when we both felt electricity jolt through our bodies. I could tell she felt it more than me and she quickly took back her hand. She looked shocked at first and then she blushed while keeping her head down. I could the deep tomato red shade on her cheeks from this side. “I’m Victoria, Vicky as Ms. El calls me. Please wait in the living room, while I gather Ms. El’s things and mine.” With that she quickly turned and went inside, me following behind her.

After that, she came back with two big duffel bags and asked me in a shy tone, “I… I don’t know how long Ms. El and me are going to be there. Do you have any idea?” I was about to say, you’ll be staying with me forever. I wanted to say it so badly, but I could not do that right away. I need to stay patient with my mate, so to make her understand what I am at the same time, not scaring her away. I quickly said “A few weeks. So, please pack accordingly.” She gave a nod and went inside  again. After what I felt like a lifetime away from my mate, Vicky came back with two large duffel bags, a suitcase and one small duffel bag, along with a tattered backpack. I could quickly say that while the two large duffel bags and the suitcase belonged to Ms. Eleanor, the other two were of my mate’s. I mentally noted the condition of the bags and promised myself to pamper her with all the luxury goods I can afford in the future.

I quickly took everything from her. She was about to protest saying that they were heavy. Hmmph, I could carry more than she can ever imagine. Instead, I gave her a wink and carried them myself. She was carrying only the backpack in her arms. Suddenly, the bottom of the backpack got torn up and everything fell down. All that was in there, was only a photo album, a toothbrush, hair brush and a small teddy bear. She blushed at the sight of me eyeing the teddybear and her. She was so cute. She quickly apologised  and started gathering things. I stopped her and she gave me a confused look. I gave her a carrybag from the car, which I always carried for emergency purposes. She thanked me and put them all in the bag and quickly got into the car. Then I climbed to the passenger seat and on the way, I saw a small market store. I asked the driver to stop there for a moment. When Vicky saw that the car has stopped, she looked up in confusion again. I said, I would be back as soon as possible, there were few things I needed to pickup. She gave me a nod and looked away, clutching the carry bag dearly to her chest.

I sighed and went inside. I looked around till I found the aisle I was looking for. It held all kinds of different bags, for women and also to the other side, there were stuffed toys. I knew she was in her twenties by her look but I still found it adorable that she was fond of teddybears. So I quickly grabbed a cute pink backpack with a small plush teddy attached to the keyring. Also I bought a white teddy holding a heart, with I Love You written on it. I wanted to tell her about my love this way. I paid the cashier and went outside. She was sleeping, I guess. Her head was angled towards the window with eyes closed.

I got into the car silently, not wanting to wake her up, and we drove towards the hotel, where the alpha and Ms. Eleanor were meeting. As soon as we reached the hotel, I mindlinked alpha, saying that we’ve arrived. He replied back asking us to wait. My gaze went to my sleeping mate in the back seat of my car. That’s when I noticed some light traces of scars and cuts, even though, no normal eye can see. My wolf gaze, along with my powers, I can see that she was abused. And for the past two to three months, she has been well taken care of. I can feel the love shown towards her in her aura. I immediately knew it was Ms. Eleanor’s doing. Now, my mate was at peace. I loved that. Her features were more livelier now. Her black hair with a reddish tinge in the curls were soflty folded into a messy bun, with some hairs falling on her face, from the sides. Her full pink lips were pouted now as she slept, as if inviting me to kisss her. It took a lot of restrainment on my wolf from taking over. She had a curved body and was beautiful. She slept like a baby.

Suddenly, alpha mindlinked me saying that I can go in now. I quickly answered him saying ok, and I gently touched my mate’s arm to wake her up. She quickly jolted up right and was shocked at the electricity flowing from our touch. I grimaced, knowing I disturbed my mate’s sleep. I should have cleared my throat or called her gently. I blamed my stupid feelings to touch her. It was the mate bond though, what can I do. I sighed and quickly told her that “we’re here. We need to go in”. she nodded and came out of the car.

Once she stood besides me, like a gentleman, I held out the door and led her to the private rooms, where alpha and Ms. Eleanor were. She was not there in the room, when we arrived. So, I stood there, with my mate beside me, blushing hard. I looked at lovingly and longingly, wanted to hold her and never to leave her ever. Ms. Eleanor came inside and saw Vicky and me. She then asked my mate, “I see Vicky, that you have met my uncle and Cole.” My mate, immediately bowed her head down and blushed deeply. Ms. Eleanor called alpha her uncle, that means, she was our lost princess. Oh my god. I was in the presence of our princess and future alpha. That’s why Rex told me about her wolf being of very high power that we cannot handle.

I immediately came out of that and to save my mate from further blushing, I said, “Sorry Princess, I’m Cole, Cole Jackson, Vicky here is my mate”. I knew that alpha has already introduced me, but I wanted to introduce myself formally and I don’t know why I wanted to do that.

Later, we all went to our car and towards our plane. We were going home. During the flight, I sat besides Vicky, who was lost in deep thoughts. I cleared my throat and asked her what was wrong. She blushed again, I lost the count how many times I made her blush and my wolf was proud of that, that he had that effect on her.
