The following afternoon, Henry drove his phaeton to the Astley town house, ready to prostrate himself before Caroline. A gigantic bouquet of white and blue hyacinths lay on the seat next to him.
As he pulled up to Astley House, he saw an elaborate landau parked out front. Inside, he found Caro, her mother, and her sister, Lady Wynters, along with the owner of the landau, who turned out to be his favorite person in the whole entire world.
