Chapter 22 Caro didn’t hear anything from Henry the day after their visit to the British Museum. By the following morning, the anticipation was killing her, so she sent Fanny off with a note requesting that Henry meet her midmorning in the square in front of his bachelor apartment. Henry was nowhere to be seen when they alighted from the hackney. Only residents of the square had keys to the gate, so she and Fanny settled in to wait.
