ZOE'S POV
“Luna, are you awake?” I took and wore the robe Mae had given me when I heard her voice. I took the towel so I could dry my hair too fast. I flipped my hands so Mae could open the door using her key.
“Come in!” My tone was too loud, and I was sure Mae could hear my voice. Minutes passed when she finally entered my room; she bowed at me before she glimpsed at me.
Mae was looking at me with a look of confusion on her face. She turned around and checked the door. “I think there is something wrong with the lock. I thought you would escape from here, and I am scared that I will die soon.”
“I sleep soundly here, and I am sorry if I am making you feel anxious. It looks like I liked to sleep more.” My lips pursed when I explained to Mae that I had overslept. I know Mae was too kind
