In 1345 there were 2 seafearing kingdoms, called Elharmia, ruled by King Radovan I, and Dorfonia, led by King Stefan III, trying to take control of an isand called Dostatia, located West of Elharmia and Dorfonia, An uninhabited but fertile type of island, reputed to have been coveted by both kingdoms since 1129. The reason for this is because each has sufficient claims by both sides.Elharmia wants to claim this land as theirs since in the year 1043, one of their sailors, Dragan, has found Dostatia while in an expedition to find the Western route to Oronia, the Eastern Kingdom, well known for its gold, along with his 58 merchants on a ship, and they placed it in their accounts as "An Island suited for our plants and animals" As for Dorfonia, Their claim is because it is already discovered by them in the year 1036, by Edward, a sailor and a merchant while on his way to return to his home in Dorfonia from a trade expedition to the Southern kingdom of Gregoria. He has noticed an Island he called "An Island of abundance" Because of these 2 claims of discoveries, they had a misunderstanding on who will rule over the island of Dostatia, except for what they named it due to a common language and because it became worse, they decided to settle this matter with war. Since then, bloody clashes have occurred between both kingdoms, and therefore Dostatia is also called a "Red Island" because of multiple battles that have fought over the 2 kingdoms' attempted control over the island. There are times that Elharmia and Dorfonia have won and lost many battles just to control this fertile island.
