“You show a lot of potential, Annika.”
Jesse’s words rang in Annika’s head as she lay back in the lounge chair next to the sparkling pool.
“I could make an excellent rider out of you if only Gittie would allow me to work with just you, and not all these losers…” Okay, so Annika only imagined that second part. But she could tell by the way Jesse watched her on Spotty that she was probably thinking that. After all, Jesse did spend a lot of time checking on her, making sure everything was going smoothly for the two of them. More time than she spent working with any of the other guests.
