Esther spoke to Joy as they sat down in the hospital garden. “I’ve had a miserable week. I messed up with Rachel. The only good thing is that she’s found herself a job and starts tomorrow.”
“What will she be doing?”
“Working in a garden centre. I never thought she’d apply for a dirty, sweaty job.”
“Perhaps you don’t know your sister as well as you think you do.”
“I don’t know her at all.” Thinking of Rachel tied her gut in knots. “She won’t let me get to know her, and it’s been driving me crazy. Not to mention she’s of little help at home.”
