Chapter 17

LUCA'S POV

She questioned that rogue and I almost lost it after he spat on her. I would have killed him right then and there but I knew we needed information from him, and I wanted to see what she could do. She had picked up a drill and started drilling into him. I have to admit I didn't think the rumors about her were true. I thought they were exaggerating.

"Oh man, I thought they were just rumors." My best friend and beta linked me.

"Yeah man, so did I", I linked back.

"Man she is just as brutal as Leo."

"Yeah I can see that"

We continued to watch until she stuck the syringe of wolf's bane in the rogue. She didn't even glance back as the rogue's body started to convulse while foam was spilling out of his mouth while she packed up until she started to walk out of the cell.

We followed her out and I heard her say something to her cousin about getting her "go bag" ready. Whatever that means. I would need to ask her cousin about it. We reached the others coming out of the security room and looking at my mate she still had that cold, distant look on her face. I glanced at her cousin and future beta, Matt, who only shook his head and held his hand up for us to not approach her. Watching her walk out and the door closing behind her, I turned to Matt. "What's going on? Why did you stop me from going to her?" I couldn't hide the annoyance in my voice no matter how hard I tried. My wolf was howling in my head, begging me to go our mate.

Shaking his head while looking in the direction my mate had gone, "She might be the best at what she does, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't take a little out of her. Usually she isolates herself for a few days or a few hours, it really depends."

"So, should I go to her or wait?" " Go to her you i***t" My wolf blade yelled at me. I couldn't help but ask, I already was feeling like an i***t not knowing what to do.

"Honestly, I'm not sure. She asked me to get her go bag..."

"Are you kidding me. She hasn't asked for her go bag in so long." Bryan interrupted his cousin shock covering his entire face, making me worried.

"What is a go bag?" I asked Matt

"A go bag is her bag she takes when she goes out to fight, or when she's on a mission. It has everything she could ever need for a fight and rescue mission."

Listening to him talk was giving me a headache. My mate was going out to fight? We literally killed the rogues that came into our territory. Well, aside from the boy she saved, who is an Alpha. I still don't even know the entire story behind that. I would have to ask her. I'd be damn if my mate was going to go out on some mission, let alone after what we all had witnessed. It was after three in the morning. Was she even going to sleep? I need to find her, I need to talk her out of it, or take me with her, or at least get her to sleep. Without saying another word, I walked out as fast as I could without running and headed towards the pack house to try to find my mate. But first I needed to shower.

Andrea's POV

Stepping out of the shower onto the soft white mat, I pulled my towel off the rack, dried my body, then dried my hair. I put on my short spandex shorts and a sports bra, then I brushed my teeth and did my skin care before stepping out of the shower into my room. I needed to get some sleep before I started planning and went out fighting with no sleep. Looking at the clock, it was five in the morning. The sun was starting to come up.

*BOOM* My room door flew open rattling on its hinges, as I was making my way to my bed. That scared me and made me jump a little. There stood my mate in nothing but clean sweat pants, and a shirt in his hand. I roamed my eyes all over his body from head to toe and then looking back up I stopped as I stared at the bulge in his pants, clearly not wearing any boxers.

"arghh" I let out a frustrated groan. There was no way I could make it to the wedding when he was walking around like that. I'm surprised we didn't do it last night when we had the chance to in the forest. Calling over my shoulder "Close and lock the door on the way in please", sitting on the bed, I patted the spot next to me and watched as he closed and locked the door, making his way to the spot where I asked him to sit. Without saying anything, he placed the shirt over my head and pulled my hands, through running his hands down my side's making me shiver. I noticed the hungry look he had in his eyes as he looked me up and down, putting the shirt over me. Ugh, I just wanted him right here, right now.

Before I could do anything, he picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck and he pulled back the blanket, laying me down and then laying next to me, pulling the blanket over both of us, then pulling me flushed against his bare chest cuddling me. I laid my head on him listening to his heart beat. At some point, I fell asleep.

"Yaaaawwwnnnn" that was the best sleep I've had in a while. "I agree" Hearing my wolf Ava speak up. I wish it was more like this. Moving to swing my legs over the bed, I was stopped when I felt arms tighten around my waist, keeping me from trying to sit up. What the h**l. Pulling back the blanket, I stared looking at my mate next to me, and that's when I remembered that he slept here last night... Or this morning when we got back from the dungeons.

He looked so peaceful sleeping as I looked at every detail of his face, noticing his long eyelashes, the way his mouth was slightly open, the light five-o-clock shadow on his jaw line. I was enjoying staring at him until I remembered that I had to pee, so I started to wiggle to try to get his attention.

"Uuuhhhh" He groaned, pulling me closer to his chest, still asleep.

"Lucaaa wake up please, I need to pee" I couldn't help the little whine as I said his name. But still he didn't move, not even a flinch. "LUCA" I yelled, startling him as he jumped up out of bed looking around trying to find a danger like he was ready to fight someone, till his eyes landed on me and sighed in relief. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you I just needed to use the bathroom" I said as I slipped out of bed since he also pulled the blanket off with him.

"You didn't need to shout". Was all he called after me as I went into the bathroom laughing and just making it in time. Going through my morning skin care routine once I was done using the bathroom, I walked out not really paying much attention to whether Luca was still in my room or not. I walked into my walk-in closet and changed into my black leggings, a sports bra, and a thin hoodie while putting on running shoes. By the time I was done, it was eleven in the morning. I had slept for a little less than six hours.

"Bry, please round up the team and meet me in Lucas' office after breakfast or lunch", I called through the mind link. I noticed Luca was sitting at the edge of my bed dressed in one of his grey work suit pants with a white button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up just above his elbows. I noticed he had a tray next to him that held a bowl of cut-up fruits, orange juice, water, and an egg omlet.

"OMG Drea, he brought us breakfast in bed, isn't that so sweet"

"Wow, yes it is. That was very sweet of him, Ava."

"Wow you brought breakfast in bed." I couldn't hide the genuine surprise and happiness I felt. I was also feeling the happiness from Ava.

"Yes I did. I hope that was okay? Also, we don't have to worry about the kids they will be taken care of while we are away." He had a slight red tint to his cheeks. Clearly, this isn't something that he does.

" Of course it is okay. Thank you, I really appreciate you taking care of that for me."

"Of course, you are my mate and I want to make you happy. Oh, we don't have to worry about the kids I have". I could hear the certainty in his voice and I couldn't help but smile at the thought of him wanting to make me happy. I could also feel the heat coming to my face, so I knew I was blushing.

Walking over to the bed, I sat on the opposite side of the tray of food, picking up a fork and grabbing a couple of pieces of fruit, putting it in my mouth. That was when I noticed Luca was watching me and I felt self-conscious. We continued to eat like that and he asked me about my go bag and about Alpha Ian, so I had to explain the situation to him. I couldn't finish any more of my meal. We sat and talked for a little while till I got a mind link letting me know that my elite warriors were on their way to the Alpha's office.

Me and Luca made our way to his office, walking side by side not really saying anything, just being in comfortable silence. I started to get a feeling like someone was watching me and I couldn't help the feeling that came over me. It felt like I was in danger. Needing to know why I was feeling like this, I decided to open my mind and reach out to see if I could read anyone around me that might be giving me this feeling. I felt my mind was being flooded with other people's thoughts as my mind was reaching further into the hall around us until I found it. The reason why I was getting a bad feeling. I stopped walking for a moment and focused until the thoughts became clearer. At the end of the hall is in a dark corner with some plants.

"This Bi**h. Who does she think she is? She's walking around here like she owns the place. Mate my a**. They are only claiming to be mates because she's a princess. I'm not going to sit back when he is my mate. He was supposed to be mine. I gave him all of myself that night and didn't ask for a single thing in return except for his love and to be made his Luna. My plan was working, no one was going to come between me and him. Then she showed up and that was it. I don't exist anymore. I was pushed to the side, and the bi**h broke my arm when all I was trying to do was show her some respect. I mean sure it was more for the sake of helping me with Luca, but that back fired any way. I'll get my revenge. I'll kill this bi**h if it's the last thing I do."

I noticed Luca looking at me, clearly wondering why I had stopped walking because of the curious look on his face he gave me. I shook my head and gestured with my hand for us to continue to walk to his office. Pulling back on reading Amber's mind, I had more pressing matters to focus on. I will have to deal with her. I was hoping she had learned her lesson, but it looks like she still wants to take what does not belong to her.

"I won't let anyone take our mate from me, Drea," Ava snapped.

"I agree, Ava, but for now let's focus on the meeting we are about to have." I have plans to teach her a lesson when we get back from the wedding.

I walked in behind Luca and he led me to his chair and took the one next to me. I was just as shocked that he was giving me his seat for this meeting, and by the looks on everyone's faces, so were they.

"I am sorry for being late everyone, I have asked you all to come here today because there is something rather pressing and bothersome to me." I paused for a second to make sure everyone was listening to me so far, so I continued to talk. "Last night we were attacked and I had found out some disturbing things. My plan is to go in and liberate everyone that has been taken or forced to fight a senseless fight. Also, I plan on getting more information, so I need a few of the rogues alive for interrogation. According to Alpha Ian, there are women and children being held captive, beaten, and ra***. The men, some of them, are being forced to fight for the sake of their families." Pausing to catch my breath, I then continued "According to the information I got from the rogue, the boss's name is Chester. Their campsite is about twenty miles from the edge of the pack border in a small clearing same direction that they had launched the attack from." I had a map on the desk and showed them the area, going over attack plans and the best routes to get there and back. Making sure we would have extra medical staff on hand and enough medical equipment for whatever we would need.

"Okay everyone, we leave in thirty minutes. Make sure you have whatever you need for this trip. It shouldn't take too long to get there, but it might take us a little while to get back. So I need everyone to pack an extra ration or two of food for anyone we bring back with us." "Okay, I'll see you guys in thirty minutes."

30 minutes later...

We all walked to the edge of the pack borders where we had about twenty warriors with us. Once we got to the border, everyone started to take off their clothes and I went behind a tree big enough to cover me while I took off my clothes and put them in my bag. I made sure it was tied to my arm before I quickly shifted into my wolf form. I came out from behind the tree and looked around, seeing everyone in their wolf forms. I stood taller than everyone else except Luca, who I came up to his shoulders. I looked at him and he gave a low howl signaling that we were moving out.

We were running for a couple of hours before we started to slow down and came to a stop. I signaled for everyone to change back into their human forms so it'll be easier to communicate. I once again stepped behind a tree and changed back to my human form while putting on my black leggins and underwear at the same time, and then my sports bra. I couldn't carry my swords so I left them behind in the pack, considering I had to pack light. I placed straps on my things and attached some throwing knives. I also attached my darts onto the straps on my arms. Everything was dipped in wolf's bane. I put two of my favorite knives onto my belt, I then quickly braided my hair and then stepped out from behind the tree from where I was. I couldn't have been more than five minutes. As I stepped out from behind the tree, I noticed everyone looking at me. I'll never get tired of seeing the shocked look on peoples' faces when they see me in my outfit. Although I am not completely in my usual outfit, it still had the same effect.

"Okay guys, listen up, a few miles out and we hit the rogue camp. We need to do a perimeter sweep and see how far their camp extends. We need two teams of three. You guys will head out and meet at the other end, then report back. Keep hidden and do not engage in any type of contact with anyone. Once you guys get back, if we need to make any modifications to our plan based on what you find, then that is what we will do." I paused to make sure everyone understood. "Okay, so Alpha Luca will pick a team of three and I will send three of my own as well." Alpha Luca picked his team while I picked my team. "Rose, Mark, and Dean, you three will be my eyes and ears. You can use mindlink with me, Alpha Luca's team can use mind link with him just incase if you need any back up or if something happens, so keep it open."

Once I was done, both teams went off and we began to set up camp, which just consisted of us sitting around making sure all our weapons were good to go and piling all our bags together. After an hour, we decided to rotate the shift change. I decided to go on this rotation with a couple of other people for another hour till we changed again. After almost three hours, both teams came back and reported what they had seen.

Apparently, the camp had rogues all over the place (which I expected) and the people they held captive were all being held in a couple of tents. The men they had captured were forced to work, building things, making weapons, all while starving them. I also looked into some of their memories and saw exactly where the rogue leader was staying. According to the information that they brought back, we didn't need to make any changes to our attack plan.

We spent another hour getting into position to fight. Luca was by my side and looking at him. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he wished I would sit this out, but knew not to say anything. I held my hand out for him to take, and he did, giving me a small smile. "We will get through this. I know you have my back and I have yours. Please be safe." I said to him just quietly enough only for him to hear. I felt him squeeze my hand as he nodded his head. Without saying anything else, Luca gave the signal and we started to attack.
