We ran sided by side into the rogue camp and started killing any and every rogue we came across. I made my way slicing and killing anyone who came my way, until I made it to the tent where I knew the rogue who was in charge would be. I was standing a few feet away from the tent. Fighting off the rogues that came at me while the team kept fighting and killing the other rogues. Plunging my knife into the heart of the muddy brown rogue wolf I was fighting, killing him instantly. The flap to the tent opened and out walked the b***ard I was looking for. He only had on pants, and no shirt or even shoes.
He had a smug smile on his face as he did up his pants, and that quickly dropped once he noticed his men were being killed. Not wasting any time, I walked over to him just as he had noticed me and his gaze turned murderous.
"So, you are the one causing trouble with my pack?" I paused, giving him a once over. He wasn't much to look at. An unkept beard, hair that was sticking out at all sides, scars on his upper body. Everything about him screamed trouble and danger.
"And who the f**k are you?"
"I am the one clearly killing all of your men." I gestured around with my hand, showing him that most of his men were dead. "I mean if you hadn't noticed. I know what you have been doing and I must say I am not happy." "Also, to answer your question, I have gone by many names. But you may know me as the one who takes out rogues. The one who goes looking for them." I paused, letting my words sink in. Feeling satisfied when the look of realization crossed his face, followed by fear.
"No, you can't be. It can't be true. You don't look like anything that anyone has ever described." He said as he continued to persuade himself of something different. Like he could take me on.
"Truth be told, not many have ever lived once they have crossed my path," I said indifferently.
"You are just a little girl. You have nothing on me. I could kill you with my bare hands and still sleep peacefully tonight." I could hear the arrogance in his voice.
"Geeze what an i***t. Can we kill him quickly so we can get back to the pack?" "Yes Ava, we can" I replied, smirking.
"Ugh, all this chat is boring me. Are we going to fight, or are we just gonna stand around chatting like high school girls?" I said, trying to taunt him into making the first move. And it was clearly working. He came charging at me full speed and just as he was about to collide with me I jumped over him, landing on my feet facing his back and watching him being confused till he turned around and I saw how red his eyes were. Clearly, his wolf spirit was gone and he was on the verge of shifting. Even so, he wouldn't have a chance at winning this fight. He came at me again and this time I threw a right hook, catching him square in the jaw. I didn't stop as I kept punching him, and dogging his attacks. I jumped up and swung my leg trying to catch him in the head and just before my leg made contact he grabbed it and stabbed me in my thigh with one of my knives that was soaked in wolf's bane. I stumbled back a little and left the knife where it was.
Hearing Ava growling loudly in my head at being stabbed. She was really pissed now. Looking at him, I said "You really shouldn't have done that." I charged at him this time, not wasting a second, as I grabbed his arm and pulled it out of its socket. Hearing him scream brought me a lot of joy, but I was still not satisfied and neither was Ava. I pulled out another one of my knives from my belt and he came at me again, trying to hit me with his good arm but failing. I caught it and snapped it back from his elbow, hearing a sickening crunch.
"I Morte or Muerte (Death), here by, sentence you to death", I whispered in his ear, not wanting anyone to hear me, using my name that I only ever use when killing rogues. I usually have my full gear and mask on, but I didn't bring all that with me when I left the castle. Which was one reason why I didn't want anyone to hear me. My name alone brought fear to his eyes. Still holding his arm that I had just snapped, I brought my knife down right into his heart and held it there as he died. Letting him fall as I pulled my knife back out. I wiped it on his pants and put it back on my belt.
I looked around and noticed a few people were looking at me. I wasn't surprised to see that even my mate was looking at me. "We need to get all the people that were captured and make sure they are all safe." He called out to everyone. I know some of them haven't seen me fight until now, but most have since they were with us when those rouges attacked. But they all moved as he spoke, gathering up the men, women, and children.
I walked into the tent that filthy rogue came out of and the sight before me broke my heart. I could tell she was a Luna. She must be Ian's mom. She looks like the woman I saw in his memories but she clearly has been through a lot. She was tied to a makeshift bed completely naked and covered in cuts and bruises. I quickly walked over and covered her unconscious body with a blanket that was near by.
I gently nudged her shoulder. "Luna, please wake up." She jumped, looking around frantically screaming for help till her eyes landed on me with my hands up. "Please, calm down. I am not here to hurt you. I am here to help you." I tried saying in a soothing voice. "Your son Ian, I am here on behalf of him."
"Where is he? Where is my boy?" She choked out between sobs. Looking around for him.
"He is back in my mates' pack and he is safe. Last I knew before we left, he was at the pack hospital recovering. He is safe, I promise. We are here to take you all back to give you guys help."
"Are they.. Are they all dead?" She asked me. You could tell she was trying not to have any hope.
"Yes, they are all dead," I said in a flat voice. I broke the chains that had her tied to the makeshift bed and pulled the blanket around her tighter.
"My daughter. I need to find her." She said, looking up at me with wide eyes. She was starting to panic again.
"Okay, we will find her. Can you tell me where she was last? Do you remember?" I asked, trying to sound calm so she wouldn't panic and knock herself unconscious. She was severely malnourished and badly beaten amongst other things.
"Yes, she was with all the other women and children in another tent." She told me, giving me a look that was full of pleading and fear.
"Okay, well, our team has already cleared out that tent so we can go and look for her. Let me get you a change of clothes for you, okay?"
"Hey Rose, can you please bring me my bag?" I called through the mind link. I didn't think it was a good idea to have her around any guys, especially, since she wasn't properly dressed. And given what she must have had to go through, I can understand. Just then, Rose walked in with my bag.
"Princess, all the rogues are dead and the woman and children and the men that were captured and forced to be rogues have all been gathered, given food, some clothes that we brought and whatever medical attention we could give at the moment. Some will need a lot more medical attention, amongst other things." She said while I pulled out a pair of leggings and a shirt, handing them to the Luna as me and Rose both turned around to give her some privacy to change.
"Thank you Rose. We will have to write up a report in full detail. I am going to need information on everyone. Who they lost, what they lost, injuries, and anything else that we can help them with. I'd like to get a few therapists so we can have them available if anyone needs them." She nodded her head at what I was saying. I felt a light tap on my shoulder. Turning around, the Luna was now properly dressed.
"I am sorry but you said princess?" She asked in a small voice.
"Yes, she is Princess Andrea Petterson, future Lycan queen" Rose had said to the Luna.
"Oh my" She gasped. "Princess." She said while getting down on her knees.
I got down, kneeing in front of her and grabbing her hands. "No please don't do that. You have been through so much. This is no time for being formal please." As I said this she was clearly shocked and hesitant, but quickly recovered and nodded her head as a small smile spread across her face. "What is your name Luna?"
"My name is Luna Anna Wright of the Hazel Wright pack." She said proudly.
"It is very nice to meet you, Luna Anna. I wish it was under better circumstances," I said while still holding her hands. I helped her up and we started walking out of the tent. Stepping out of the tent, Luna Anna brought her hand up to shield the sun from her eyes as they adjusted to the light. Looking around, the team had gathered all the victims and were helping everyone that needed serious medical attention and handing out whatever food and water that we had.
"Okay, I am going to go around with you to find your daughter." I told her, still holding her hand in mine for comfort. She nodded her head and we went around the camp looking for her daughter, asking anyone and everyone if they had seen her. So far no one has. We continued looking until we came to a tent and I could hear muffled noises. Letting go of Luna Anna's hand, I walked in and couldn't see anyone. I could still hear the noise and it sounded like it was coming from under a cot. I got down on my hands and knees and looked under and there I found the little girl that I knew was Luna Anna's daughter and Alpha Ian's sister. I could hear her whimpers get louder as she saw me.
"Hello dear, I am Drea. I am here to help you." I said while slowly reaching my hand out. "Your mother is just outside the tent and your brother Ian is back in my mates' pack waiting for you both. Would you like to come and see them?" I watched as relief flooded her face at the mention of her mom and brother waiting for her. Without saying anything, she nodded her head and slowly took my hand as she crawled out from under the cot. She also looked like she had been beaten and starved. If the rouges in the camp weren't already dead, I would kill them all again. I walked out holding her hand to comfort her. The moment she saw her mother, she immediately ran into her arms and they both began crying. It was a heartfelt moment and I felt like they both needed a little privacy, so I turned my head away as I listened to their cries slowly die down.
Walking over to them, "I am sorry to have to cut this short, but I promise once we are back in the pack you can reunite with your son. But we need to move out of here in case there are anymore of them around" I said, while getting a quick nod from the Luna, showing me she understood what I had meant and that it could still be dangerous for us to linger here any longer. We walked to the area where we had attacked from and I found everyone was there resting and eating while the team was aware of everything going on around us and on alert.
"Okay everyone, we cannot stay here any longer, we need to move out and get back to my pack as soon as possible. I know most of you cannot shift at the moment, so we are going to be hiking back. It will be a long hike and we won't reach there until tomorrow, so we will have to stop to get some rest at night." My mate's voice was loud and clear for every one to hear and they had all agreed and started to gather what little things they had.
Once everyone was gathered together, we had the team spread out like a shield to protect the members from all sides if needed. Then we began our hike back to the pack. We walked for almost five hours by the time we stopped for the night, we gave everyone more food and some water and started to set up where everyone would sleep and we figured out patrol shifts for the night. I decided to take a little nap before the next shift change.
I was walking around and sat down against a tree that overlooked the entire camp ground. I started thinking of the last few days since coming to Blood moon Pack and everything that has happened. Not to mention the wedding coming up. It'll be three days till the wedding. By the time we get back to the pack, we would have to leave in a few hours just to get to the kingdom. I was so lost in thought that I didn't hear anyone coming towards me till I heard someone speak.
"Hey, what are you doing over here by yourself? We need to stay together." Luca, spoke then sat down next to me.
"Oh, yeah sorry about that. I just needed to clear my head..." I paused and rubbed the back of my neck. "To say it's been a crazy few days is an understatement."
"Yeah, I know what you mean. I know we just met a few days ago, but it feels like I've known you forever."
"Yeah, that is true. Maybe we should spend this time getting to know each other a little more."
"Okay, so what is your favorite color?"
"Really? What's my favorite color?" I let out a laugh. "How original."
"Come one it was the first thing that came to mind. I mean you told me a little bit about yourself but I don't know what to ask" He also started to laugh a little bit.
"Okay," I smiled at him "My favorite color was blue. But the blue in the sky when there are no clouds and it just seems like an endless light blue sky. It's the kind of blue that feels like it'll never end."
"Wait was? So not any more? What would it be now?"
"It is still one of my favorite colors. Well, one of the two. Now it would be umm.." I turned away, not wanting to look at him and admitted my favorite color was his eyes. "It would be hazel with a hint of green. Like... Like the colors of your eyes." He was quiet, so I took my chance and glanced at him to see he was shocked.
"Okay, so what is your favorite color?"
"My favorite color is white."
It went on like that all night. He would ask a question and I would answer. Then I would ask a question and he would answer. Eventually, we both went back to everyone to get some sleep before we had to leave again in the morning.
Luca's POV
We spent most of the night talking and getting to know each other better. The past few days have been pretty crazy and with everything that has been going on, I don't feel like we get much alone time with each other, so this meant a lot to me just spending time and asking pointless questions. In a few days, we'll officially be mated and married. I cant wait to. I am truly lucky to have such a strong mate.
We are currently on our way to the pack and we now only have a few more miles to go till we reach the pack borders. "Hey Leo, we are going to be coming through the pack borders in a bit. We are a few miles out from the training field. I'm gonna need some warriors to come and help bring Alpha Ian's pack to the pack clinic. I also need a few females to come and help take the women." I mind linked my third in command and my torture guy.
"Will do Alpha" he replied back.
We eventually crossed the border to the pack where a bunch of my people were waiting for us and came over to help. In the middle of everyone helping and taking people to the pack's clinic, I noticed Leo looking strangely at my mate, and when I looked at her, I noticed she was also looking at Leo.
"Leo, you good man?"
"Yeah man. Im good."
"Cool man. We will meet in my office to discuss your mission after everything here is taken care of." Does he know her? Do they know each other? Nah, I wont think too much about it. I watched as my mate went to help the women and children to the clinic. I helped the men and made sure they all got the medical attention that they needed. Eventually, I made my way back to the pack house and to my room to shower. Once I was done, I had made my way to my office, checking the clock on the wall. It was almost eight in the morning. The moment I had sat down in my chair, I got started on the paper work for Alpha Ian's pack and my own pack. After almost an hour in my office, a knock came from my office door. "come in" I called, and in walked my mate, my beta and my third in command.
