The perfect facade
CHAPTER 1: THE PERFECT FACADE
But tonight, Rosie is excited for a different reason. She’s got a date with her boyfriend Alex and she’s been looking forward to it all week.
Rosie can’t help but feel anxious as she gets ready. Feeling prepared to face the world, she applies her makeup. She wears her favourite dress that makes her look like she’s worth millions. Time flies, Alex doesn’t show up, Rosie starts to feel a little anxious. Where is he and why is he late? She checks her phone for what feels like the hundredth time, but there’s no message from Alex.
Just as Rosie is starting to worry she gets a text from Alex.
“Hey, I’m a little late. How about we meet at the restaurant instead?” Rosie is a little let down, but she says “okay” in a low voice. She is trying to stay positive, but she can’t help but wonder what’s going on.
Rosie can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong as she grabs her purse and leaves. She doesn’t know what it is, but she can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong. She might just be nervous, but she’s getting a strange feeling. Rosie takes a deep breath and tries to relax.
It’s possible that Alex is just stuck in traffic or had a meeting that ran late. He might show up at the restaurant and say he’s sorry with a smile on his face. At least that’s what she hopes.
