Guards would be near somewhere and the last best thing that could happen today would be him keeping his mouth shut because, of course, why would a man want others to know that he got his balls kicked? and my bubble of fun would burst if someone found me here and discovered the scenario.
I knelt beside him, as he was still trying to recover from the horrible impact of my heels with his-
Enough about his balls already!- a side of mine felt already grossed out.
"Don't say I didn't warn you. Next time you try anything with me, I'll deliver that bullet right through that empty brain of yours." a smirk made its way on my face.

Exhaling sharply after giving a piece of my mind to the douche bag of a fiance, I threw a quick look around but paused when my gaze spotted a silhouette receding into the dark.
It was right next to the side of the mansion that lead to the back garden, where the ammunition was usually kept. Who could be there right now, except guards? who too weren't allowed in the premises when the families of the mafia would meet.
It was unusually suspicious for me. Anyway, it was time to leave might as well check who was there. With one last look at Raphael, who was now managing to get up from the floor, I fluttered out of the perimeter and towards the newly located inspection sight.
Someone has seen it and it's better if I take care of it right now.
My heels clicked against the tiles as I strode off towards the other side of the mansion, confidence oozing off me after the stunt I had pulled a while ago.
What a dream come true, if only father had seen the way Raphael just treated me then the marriage would have been off for good. The thought made me pause for a moment.
Finding the witness for the incident will be my only good chance out of this wedding after it will be revealed with a witness, what happened just now. A hope enlighten in me, with an eagerness to find the mystery man or woman who could save me from the forced marriage.
I dashed off and took the last turn only to stop dead in my tracks again. The lights of the weapon storage were illuminating the backyard but not a single soul could be seen around. The place didn't support a complex structure hence, one look from a single angle could easily tell if anyone was there or not.
Shit, there goes my chances of preventing a shitty future for myself.
Scoffing, I was ready to waste the rest of the evening over finding my new target when an annoyingly familiar voice stopped me from moving further.
"Miss Bentley! Thank God I found you." Lisa caught up to me, panting.
I rolled my eyes, "What do you want Lisa? and no I am not hungry enough for a dinner, I'll join everyone in a while." I tried to be as civil as possible.
This woman has been testing my patience today, ever since she has dared to bring that slutty dress to wear tonight. Who knows what would have happened if I had worn it. Maybe Raphael would have lost his balls or brain tonight.
"Uh, Mr Bentley is asking for you along with Mr Crassus." her words hit hard for a moment. I arched a brow, "We need to hurry for the engagement ceremony." she began to usher me inside.
Oh, My f*****g Goodness. - gaping, I followed her inside.
Inside, everyone was gathered in a circle awaiting me. My jaw almost dropped at the formality of the highly ranked mafia members standing there. Father stood by his head chair, chatting with Raphael and laughing here and there, exactly how any other father-in-law would.
Except that they aren't just any other people.
I took a minute to narrow my eyes in and out on Raphael who seemed more than just okay. Did I miss his balls somehow? That would be too bad.
Noticing my arrival, Beatrix rushed to me and wrapped a strong hand around my upper arm. "Where the f**k have you been? I tried to stop it but Raphael-" she whispered into my ears but was cut off when Marilyn, the aunt spoke up.
"She's here, let's not delay it further. We'll announce their engagement the first thing tomorrow." She plastered a fake grin that would make anyone gag. "Miss Crassus, we hope for a great future and alliance with your family." father nodded towards her and Raphael.
Someone get a bin, I gotta vomit.
I cleared my throat, that came out exactly how I wanted it to.
Loud, angry and grossed out.
"Father, we need to talk," I stated, jaws clenching. My eyes momentarily landed on Raphael who for once wasn't eye-f*****g me, instead, he was mimicking my action of a clenched jaw.
I held back a laugh, after all, why would I spoil such a precious moment for Mr got-his-ball-kicked Raphael?
"Iris dear, whatever it is we'll discuss it later." he was firmly standing his ground still, thinking he could use his convincing skills on his daughter. "Then I am sure this engagement can wait till later too." holding my head up high, I announced.
Something shifted in his look and I knew too well that I had reached the limit of his patience, even though we, Bentleys were the most patient among others. Beatrix beside me tensed up, as we both knew that look too well.
Father strode towards me only to stop a step away, his eyes filled with rage. "Either you get on with the wedding or I'll disown you, in which case you'll be rotting outside of the mafia exactly how banished members do," he whispered ever so low to me and for the first time, I tensed.
I, f*****g tensed up.
Out of the mafia, I would barely be able to make it alive. There was no place for the people of The Basilisks in the outside world, where they could e easily be tracked and killed by our rivals and enemies.
I gulped in defeat and for the first time felt hurt by him, by the father who I used to adore and admire. "I don't even recognize you anymore." I gritted out before snapping my head away from him.
There might have been a tinge of hurt in his eyes which he quickly masked, before turning away. "Let's begin," he announced and a while later, I found myself defeated for the first time as Raphael put a ring to my finger.
The only good thing was that he didn't try anything like last time but I was too enraged to notice that for long.
This isn't the end, at least not until the wedding day.
I can still win. - I kept telling myself through the rest of the evening.
