In an office with a sleek and modern design, the minimalist aesthetic emphasizes clean lines and functionality. The walls are a soft white, with pops of color in the furniture and décor. The furniture is streamlined and comfortable, with plenty of storage space for supplies and equipment. The air is filled with the scents of fragrant lotions and delicate floral perfumes, creating a luxurious and indulgent atmosphere. The whole space feels like a sanctuary, a place to relax and be creative.
Aiden is seated on a chair, glancing through some files on the desk, with a small black laptop open in front of him, labeled "Mr. President."
The door to the office suddenly swung open and Arthur walks in with a smile on his face.
"You should have seen the board of directors' reactions when I made a fake announcement about you walking in," he says with an outburst of laughter as he settles down in a chair in front of Aiden.
"I'm not a monster. They're all scared because of their wrongdoings when I wasn't around," Aiden replies, his gaze now fixed on Arthur as he drops the file he was glancing through earlier.
"You're always so strict with everyone," Arthur says with a burst of laughter that quickly fades under Aiden's hard gaze.
But to be honest, this isn't about their wrongdoings or anything. Everyone knows you as the cold president of Anderson Cosmetics."
"Can we talk about something else, please?" Aiden asks, rolling his eyes in annoyance.
"Oh yes! Old man Anderson's birthday is in two days. He wants you to come to the family house before then," says Arthur. "It's been a long time since he's seen you."
"I also know about that, Arthur. Maybe you should tell me something else I don't know," says Aiden with a loud groan. "And coming to the family house before his birthday, what exactly is that old man planning?"
"I don't know, but there's a blind date for you to attend this evening," says Arthur, his announcement making Aiden sit up with a shocked expression.
"Blind date? What the heck?" exclaims Aiden with a shocked expression.
"Old man Anderson is trying to set you up with Mr. Charles' daughter. She would be returning from Paris today, and you both are to meet up with each other. I'm not supposed to tell you but I just have to," explains Arthur.
"That spoilt brat? Why is dad acting like this? Why is he getting on my nerves? Cancel the date, I'm not going on any date," Aiden says, anger evident in his tone.
"We can't do that Aiden. Old man Anderson would be so pissed, you know his anger. Well, you don't go to the clubs anymore, you don't carry girls like you used to, you've changed over these couple of years," says Arthur, with a serious expression.
"And who said that?" asks Aiden with his brows raised at Arthur. I just escaped from death and the next thing father thinks I'll be interested in is to get married. Is he trying to get another heir from me In case I die?"
"It's not me," Old man Anderson said so. "He said that you'll have to see the doctor again. Probably something might have affected your brain during that accident. He understands that your face had changed a lot, but your personality changing is what he doesn't understand. Now he prefers you being the playboy you were before, rather than being a saint who doesn't love ladies anymore," explains Arthur. And old man Anderson isn't setting you up with Mr Charles'daughter just because he thinks you're going to die soon. The police are still working on the accident case and I'm sure the evil doers will be caught soon.
"Father must be so idle for him to sit down and discuss all these with you," says Aiden with an unbelievable expression. "I should give him something for his birthday, something that would keep him busy," he adds with a grin. And it's over two years now and still, the people responsible for my accident are not caught yet. If you ask me, this is why I hate police officers, they're so incompetent.
"Don't you love Miss Dora a lot? You always wanted to link up with her before you had an accident, and now that she's finally back in the country, you don't want to meet her. And please calm down, let the police officers do their work,"Arthur said and heaved a heavy sigh.
"Father loves books. Let's get him some books that would keep him busy for good two years," Aiden replies with a satisfied grin. "And as for Miss Dora Charles, old things have passed away. Just as my face and personality have changed." And please stop telling me about the police officers, it's getting annoying.
"But still, you can't cancel the date. What do you want the old man to say? He would end up pouring his aggression on everyone else if you don't show up tonight," Arthur says, with a persuading look in his eyes.
"Are you willing to go in my place then? If not, then cancel that date. Besides, you also need a lady in your life. You should have gotten two kids by now if you're a serious person," says Aiden with a serious expression.
"But..."
"No 'buts', Arthur. I'm not interested in any blind date," Aiden cuts Arthur off before he could say anything. "You're my best friend, I expect you to understand me. I love this new me, so you people should stop forcing girls on me," he adds.
"Wow! You continue to surprise me with your new behavior every day. Alright then, I'll go to the bookstore tomorrow to get some books," says Arthur.
"No, I'll need to go by myself and select them. In fact, I'll be going to the library that is located just down the road. They should have something that Father would love there," says Aiden with a smile.
"Alright then, we'll both go to get them tomorrow," says Arthur, with a frustrated and confused expression at Aiden's new behavior. He was aware of his friend's promiscuity, but he couldn't understand the sudden change in his behavior.
Is it because of the accident? Arthur thought to himself and let out a heavy sigh. "I'll be heading to my office. See you later," said Arthur with a smile before making an exit.

It was late at night when Ella and Evelyn returned home. They were both dressed in their nighties and sitting in chairs, engrossed in conversation with each other.
"How did it go?" asks Ella, raising her eyebrows curiously at Evelyn.
"It went well. I got the job, Ella," says Evelyn, grinning from ear to ear as she shares the news with her friend, who comes running to her and throws herself into her embrace.
"I'm so proud of you, Evelyn," says Ella with a smile on her face. "I thought finding work so soon would be hard since you just got to the country. I'm so happy for you."
"Yeah, I was almost about giving up before my gaze fell on that library. It's a new one. Everyone is nice there. It's gonna be fun working with those beautiful people I met earlier today," says Evelyn, with her eyes lit up in happiness.
"I'm glad you didn't give up. Although the money offered is a little bit small. But at least you can still take good care of Piers' needs. As a toddler, he needs all the necessary things he should have. Good food, writing materials, toys, books," says Ella with a bright smile.
"He's a lovely boy who always deserves to be happy," she adds.
"Yes, the library director promised to increase it once the business starts to boom," replies Evelyn with a smile.
"Good! That aside, Piers was so friendly to his classmates today. He was a good boy," says Ella, making Evelyn even happier as she shifts her gaze to little Piers, who is already fast asleep on the three-seater sofa.
"He promised me," Evelyn said with a bright smile on her lips.
"I know right , so you're going to start working tomorrow. I wish you the best day at work tomorrow," says Ella, giggling happily.
"Thanks, dear. You're a darling," replies Evelyn with a sigh of relief. Tomorrow please be good, she added with her eyes closed and hands placed against her chest.
