The Billionaire's Ugly Duckling

Sometimes things happen that no body have control off. All we could do is sit back, cry and watch it, even if it's hard to believe. "Emma," Alice called nudging Emma shoulder. "Hmm," Emma hum as she continue to sketch. Alice sigh, no one could get Emma's attention once she's down in that sketch book. Class finish half and hour ago, and yet Emma was still sketching. Alice lay her head on the desk and stare at Emma. Emma raven back hair looks like it haven't been brush in days. The big glasses she wears cover up half of her face and the clothes she's wearing is twice her size. On campus, Emma is know as the poor ugly duckling. Alice, being Emma only friend hate hearing that. She care alot for Emma. "Sometimes I wish you'd fight back," Alice mutter her head still on the desk. Emma stop and look at Alice. She offer a soft smile. "why? I am ugly." "No you're not." Alice cut her off getting mad. "So stop saying that." Emma tilt her head and smile. She's used to being call ugly. She been hearing that since she was a little girl. The only person that doesn't call her ugly is Alice. Emma shove her sketch book in her bag. She stood up throughing her back over her shoulder. Alice stood up and followed Emma as she walk to the door. Just when Emma was about to step out she trip stumbling to the floor. Laughter echoes outside the classroom. Alice rush to help Emma up. Her face turn red of anger. "Alice, still with the dirty duckling?" A voice both Alice and Emma knows all to well said. Samantha Emma's stepsister. Being Samantha was Josh, Thomas, her two minions Avery and Stella and couple moore people. They all stare at Alice and Emma in amusement. Alice fist clench she wanted to smack it right in Samantha's face. Alice saw what happen. Emma trip because Josh leg suddenly appeared as Emma took her steps. "Samantha, you no good daughter of a w***e. " Alice greeted her teeth. Samantha roll her eyes. Samantha gaze went to Emma, "Is the ugly duckling hiding?" Emma stood there. She wasn't stepping back nor lower her head. She stare straight at Samantha as Samantha through insults at her. "Samantha, have you read the story of the ugly duckling, do you know how it ends? oh wait I forgot stupid people can't read," Alice smirk knowing her words have affect. Samantha arrogance faded. Her face darken with anger. "Alice, shut your mouth," Josh hiss. Alice blink and turn to Emma. "Em, did you heard something? I thought I heard a cow. Samantha why don't you take your cow and pigeons and go back to where you came from." Josh jaw clench. Alice called him a cow. Before Samantha could utter another word, Alice had already taking Emma way. "The nerve that girl have," Alice groaned. Emma laugh. "Laugh? Your laughing after what just happen?" Alice shake her head. "Em what am I going to do with you." "Thank you, Alice. But you know that wasn't necessarily because of me, people on campus will hate you." "b***h let them. I don't need them to like me," Alice Shrugged throughing her arm over Emma's shoulder. Walking to the bus stop neither one noticing Thomas watching them from the college. "what are you doing Thomas?" Josh ask walking up to Thomas. "Nothing," Thomas say heaven away from Emma and Alice and head back inside. Josh look to where Thomas was and saw the distant figures of Emma and Alice. It look like Thomas haven't gotten over the breakup. "s**t Thomas." Alice and Emma rent an apartment together. So they head him. Emma head to her room while Alice went to the kitchen. Inside her room, Emma walk to the mirror, she stare at her reflection. Emma took off her glasses and her vision went blurry. "Em, I got invited to a party later. let's go together," Alice say. Emma put on her glasses and turn to Alice. "Okay." Emma didn't really wanna go. She's only going because of what Alice did for her today. Alice face lit up. "Really?" Emma nod. Alice squealed and give Emma a side hug. "Okay."
