Roller coaster of emotions

𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗1: 𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖗𝖔 James Harrison, a tall lightskined basketball player, lived in Callifornia with his parents and siblings. He attends Royal Villa High School. Always flirting with girls. His dad always breathing down his neck about his studies. His dad will always say; Mr Harrison: Your basketball skills won't take you anywhere. You have to read, work harder and become something better. James mum always disagrees. She had a feeling that James skills was not a waste. She believed in him and always encourages him to practice more. James mum, although not really wealthy but she bought him all the things it takes to be a basketball player. James loves his mum so much but his dad was really angry with the idea and eventually his parents quarelled alot. James was the elderest with three younger siblings.(two sisters and a brother).His parents didn't have much they were just comfortable. So james always hated the fact that he couldn't afford nice items like the rest of his classmates. He was so angry why his dad always sees a problem in eveything he does. He just hates his life. So at School James was a bully. He was in his senior year. One day at school, James cornered a little guy, collected his bag and started going through it, they saw his diary and started reading it aloud. other kids were making mockery of the poor boy who just stood there with tears in his eyes.The other day he bullied a kid and took his lunch money. The other day he pranked his teacher by putting superglue on her seat this made her skirt to rip apart and all the students laughing. He did a lot of things like vandalizing the principal's car, trying to set the garden on fire. All these landed him in dententions and suspensions.but made him more popular. His father always threatens to withdraw him out of the school and disown him. James did'nt care, he was really good at basketball, swimming, football and other athletic sporting activities. He has gone for many events, won awards and medals but nothing seems to impress his father. One day, James came back from school only to recieve a shocking, terrible news. james: How could this be.someone should please pinch me or punch me because this is a dream. Oh God Please help me. James siblings were just crying and wailing. 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗2: 𝕰𝖗𝖎𝖈𝖆'𝖘 𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖗𝖔 ****************************************** Mr Thompson: I'm so proud of you Erica, you got accepted into the school. Erica: OMG dad are you serious! This is my happiest day ever. Mrs Thompson: This calls for a celebration. Erica is the only child of her parents, she is really smart and hardworking. Erica's dad was the manager of a very big Software and app developing company. Her dad was very rich and wealthy. But her mum has no job, she just sits and enjoys from her husband's salary. Until oneday Erica's dad came home with a very sad news. Mr Thompson: I was accused of leaking the company's secret information to our rival company and that made me lose my job. I'm so depressed right now and really don't know what to do. The news hit the family like a bombshell. They were so short of cash that they had to fire all their maids, cleaners, drivers and gardeners. Erica's mum who had never worked a day in her life was finding it difficult to get a job. Erica dropped out of school for a while and took a job as a waitress. It was'nt really easy for her besides Erica doesn't even know how to do the dishes or attend to so many customers at once without mixing up the order. Erica was always exhausted and tired but the income was'nt still enough. So they had to sell their mansion and move into a smaller apartment. Few months later, Erica got used to this kind of lifestyle. So she needed to go back to school. She wrote a scholarship exam, did excellently well and got admission. Tomorrow is gonna be Erica's first day at Royal Villa High School. 𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗3: 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝖇𝖎𝖌 𝖓𝖊𝖜𝖉 ****************************************** Olivia, James sister was in serious tears, her little siblings couldn't help but to just look at her and cry. They were all in the waiting room. James was walking to and fro with tears rolling down his cheek. He was so restless. He could'nt believe it. He thought it was a dream or a prank but reaching the hospital, he had to believe it. James: why! why me, mum why, why(he was just muttering to himself). I just pray you are okay. When james got back from school ealier that day, he recieved a shocking news that his mum was involved in a serious car accident. (She had brake failure) . James already had a bad day this only made it worse. (james was just thinking and thinking of all the people in his life is the one most important and precious person). Even if james was not the church type, he'd still pray for mum in his heart hoping she will be fine. Just then the doctor interrupted with a sad news. Doctor: The accident was really severe that she damaged her brain and right now was in a comma and don't know when or if she will ever wake up. Even if she does, she's going to lose her memory. james couldn't feel his heart beating anymore. Olivia had a panick attack, the rest were just crying, their dad was just speechless. it was really a rough day. Anyways all thanks to the people who rushed her to the hospital. James missed school for a week. At school, James grew more colder and harder reflecting on what his life had turned into. he was really depressed, even his teachers and friends noticed, he skipped classes, if he manages to attend he won't be paying attention. his mind will be totally lost. his grades were falling and getting worse. his dad was becoming more angrier and tougher at him. ****************************************** Erica's first day of school was a mess because of the school queen bee 'Anna'. Anna was tormenting and making Erica's life a living hell. Anna was the head cheer leader, prom queen and the most popular girl in the school who always had everything she wanted including every girl's dream guy 'james' (her prom king). The two were the perfect and hottest couple everyone was talking about. Anyways this didn't bother Erica even if she too had a little crush on James. she was here to read, work hard and make her parents proud. No time for boys. she threw herself into her studies and was acing all her grades with A+. Although it wasn't really easy for her. coping with work and her studies. her life was really stressful. You could see it in her face especially during exam period. ****************************************** 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗4: 𝙁𝙀𝙒 𝙈𝙊𝙉𝙏𝙃𝙎 𝙇𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙍 James was getting over the pain a little due to his lovely friends. He went for swimming and late night parties. he was really having a good time. But at home, he's life was'nt really easy. he had to do the work of his mum. Taking care of his younger ones. Although, Olivia was of really good help. but there was one little problem, Olivia was a book addict. she spent more time on books than chores. she was a brilliant student who always made her father proud. James hated the fact that his dad always compared him. life wasn't really easy for James. taking care of the house and younger ones. Sometimes he comes really late to class, looking all tired and sleepy or looking like he was being chased from the house with his dull but attractive eyes, his messy hair which only made him more handsome. And everyday after school he will go visit his mum at the hospital to check up on her but seeing her condition only worsen his mood. He couldn't help but staying there in the room all day telling his mum how his day went, and how he hates his dad and how he wished his mum will just come back and get his life back to normal. ****************************************** Erica couldn't help but notice someone staring at her all day as she answers all the questions in class. she wanted to try taking a glance back at the person, but she also wanted to avoid eye contact. During recess, everyone went out for break, but she stayed back because she didn't have anything for lunch. she was reading a book when she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. ******************************************𝖕𝖗𝖊𝖛𝖎𝖊𝖜 James: seriously, Anna Anna: I can't believe you forgot again! our anniversary is tomorrow and you haven't even mentioned it. James: (sighs rubbing his temples) Anna we've talked about this. i've being really busy lately. Anna: really! so that's your excuse, you have being acting really weird, cold and distant. i don't know what has gotten over you. James: look Anna, u don't even know what i'm going through. you can't just start judging. Anna: It's like i don't even matter to you, you don't even listen to me, u don't care about what i want. James: okay i get it i'm the worst boyfriend ever, i'm sorry Anna: Yes u are and sorry for yourself. James: look! Anna you are giving me a migraine. enough with your stupid tantrums. if you hate me so much why don't u just get lost. Anna: fine, but don't come back for me. Anna ran out of there with tears in her eyes, covering her eyes with her palms. James felt really sorry for her, but he couldn't take his words back. He went back home thinking of what happened. he couldn't sleep he was just turning and tossing on the bed. He went to the hospital and told his mum all that happened and felt a little bit relieved. so he went back home and slept off. He woke up later still thinking of Anna.he really wanted to make it up to her. There was the k-pop concert coming up and he remembered her love for k-pop. so he was thinking of buying tickets (he didn't want ordinary tickets he wanted VIP) but that was quite expensive,.He knows if he ask his dad, he won't give him so he went and took the money by himself, bought the tickets very early in the morning, wrote a sweet apology note and put it in Anna's locker. ****************************************** 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗5: 𝖍𝖎𝖌𝖍 𝖘𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖔𝖑 𝖑𝖎𝖋𝖊 Erica felt a gentle tap on her shoulder, she turned slightly only to see the handsome captain of the football and basketball team behind her. James: Hey I'm James Harrison, nice to meet you. Erica: (still looking at the book) Hi, I'm Erica Thompson. James: you've got a nice name there! Erica. Erica: (still looking at the book) thanks. James: I can see you are new, can i give you a tour round the school. (he said with a soft gentle smile) . Erica: Nevermind, I'm okay(still looking at the book). James: (A bit dissapointed). I can see you are really interested in that book. Is that a physics textbook? Erica: No it's Chemistry(still looking at the book) . James: oh! (chuckles) I'm sorry you know physics, chemistry! they all sound alike. I mean they're almost the same. Erica: No they're not(still looking at the book). James: (in his mind) *wow rude* just then Anna walked in and threw herself on James. Anna: Oh Jamzee! i love you so much. You are the best. James: I know, i love you too (he said in a low tune and kissed her gently) . Anna: I'm really sorry too for everything. James: it's okay. Anna: what are you doing here with this nerd, let's go get something to eat. James: (In his mind) *a cute nerd actually* ****************************************** 𝙄𝙉 𝘾𝙇𝘼𝙎𝙎 James: (He was just staring at Erica, talking to himself). How couldn't have i noticed this damsel, wow! she just my type. smart, pretty, goodlooking, well mannered.... Anna noticed and felt a bit jealous. Anna: (within herself) who does this girl think she is and what is James seeing in her. ****************************************** 𝙇𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝘿𝙖𝙮 Anna and her minions, cornered Erica in the girl's locker room. Anna: what do u think you are doing? Trying to take my James? oh! OMG I'm so sorry for u because u are not his type or class. so stop fooling yourself, he will never look your way. Erica: oh pls save it Anna, enough of all this. Didn't your parents teach u some manners. Anna: What!! wow you've got the nerves, i see. Are u trying to insult my parents in my presence. oh my gosh, James must hear this. Erica: look Anna i don't f*****g care, now if u will excuse me i have a lot to do. (walking away) . Anna(shouting) : i just came to knock some sense into that dumb head of yours. Erica went home that day feeling so tired, but she just had to get to work. Even at work, she could not stop thinking about James and what Anna said to her. "oh my God, why do i have to be in the middle of all these, maybe i should just keep avoiding James".But does he really have a crush on me? (she thought) until a customer grabbed her attention. 'oh no, what is he doing here'. James: hey damsel Erica: hi, and my name is Erica, anyways what can i offer you? James: uhmm(thinking) what even brought me here (he said in his mind) nothing really, i just came to look at your pretty face. Erica: Seriously! flirting with me, it won't work, let me just remind u incase you've forgotten. you have a girlfriend. James: so! who is talking about that? Erica: By the way what brought u here and how do u know i work here? James: I don't know, maybe fate has a way of bringing us together. Erica: (she gave him a stern and serious look). James: okay! fine(he heaved a sigh) Everyone was talking about it, so i decided to pay you a visit. Erica: Everyone like who? James: look! i don't really know, but can we be friends? Erica: (she just left him hanging). i have to get back to work. James was really disappointed ****************************************** 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗6: 𝖈𝖔𝖓𝖋𝖑𝖎𝖈𝖙𝖘 Mr Harrison: why do u keep giving me a headache, why can't u be more like your sister? James: well that's because i'm not her okay! we are different just get that into your head. Mr Harrison: look if you keep behaving like this, i'm gonna ship you off to a military boarding school out of the country, maybe they will teach you some manners. James: And do i look like i care, just because i asked you for money for new set of wardrobe. If mom were here, do you think i would have being asking you? Mr Harrison: Hey mind your words, don't you dare talk to me in that manner or else you will regret every bit of it. James: (stood there dumbfounded) i hate u. (he muttered to himself and walked away). James was really angry, he just cursed himself and the day he was born. "I mean why can't i just afford nice things for myself. just then he remembered the money he stole from his dad. but his dad haven't found out yet. "well, guess more troubles are waiting for me, *man* i just hate myself" (he said as he was going to school). ****************************************** 𝘼𝙏 𝙎𝘾𝙃𝙊𝙊𝙇 Erica was having a really good time, chatting with her friends when James interupted. James: i'm so sorry, Erica can i talk to you. Erica: i'm listening. James: *sighs*like i mean in private. Erica: well, i'm busy. James: look it's really important, if it isn't, maybe you can just slap me. They went somewhere a little private. James: I need your help. Erica: for what? James: okay i need u to help me with my projects and assignment. i'll pay you. Erica: You already know that's a no . James: okay, please i'll double it. Erica: I don't need your money, James, just stay away from me. (she wanted to leave, but he pulled her back still begging). Erica: i can see it's not important, (she slapped him and walked away). James was still standing with his hand on his cheek, staring at her. just then Anna walked in. Anna: what's going on here! why are you staring at her? James: just can't believe it, this street rat got guts, so much nerves, to slap me. Anna: okay! that's it, what the hell(she said walking away). James: (he pulled her back) what do you want to do? (he said with a soft smile). Anna: Teach her a lesson of course. James: Don't worry, let it go. Anna: No James, i don't like seeing you hurt. James: You're so funny Anna, u haven't even heared from me(he said with a cute smile) . Anna: fine, what happened? James: okay, so u know my dad and his craziness. he said, if i don 't sit up, he's gonna send me to a military boarding school at Russia. And honestly, i don't want to leave, i love my life here, so i asked Erica for a little help with my projects and assignments and then ... then... she... ugh. Anna: OMG i'm really sorry for u. i promise i'll help you in anyway i can. you're not gonna leave. James: Thanks a lot, you are the best. Anna:yeah! you too(chuckles) . Erica couldn't stop thinking about everything. maybe she just over reacted she wanted to apologise badly. ****************************************** james was with his friends after swimming practice. They were just chilling, laughing and having fun. until Erica passed by. James remembered the previous day and said; James: You could really need that money you know. (Erica paused without looking back). i mean, since your mum has no job and your dad, drives a dirty bus. His friends burst out laughing Steve: (james bestie) Common man, that hurts (he chuckled) Erica: (she turned and replied) well at least i'm not as dumb and mannerless as you are. (Erica controlled her emotions and ran out). James: (shouting) wow! that means we have something in common. Jerry: (james pal) okay dude, that's enough, how would you be insulting a pretty girl like that. James: Maybe she's just pretty on the outside not on the inside. ****************************************** 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗7: 𝖘𝖆𝖉 𝖒𝖔𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖘 James didn't regret a word he said. He was just so not in the mood. well can't say the same for Erica because she was emotionally drained and downcast. but she had to go to work that evening. she was just so stressed and inattentive that evening, her boss noticed that but didn't want to say anything. Her boss is a very rude, arrogant, middle aged woman who wasn't married "maybe that could be the reason for her arrogance"*people always say* Erica's mind was not just with her. She was so distracted that she did'nt even know when she spilled a glass of orange drink over a customer T-shirt, he was really furious he couldn't take it. he went ballistic and started raining abuses on Erica. Erica was trying to calm him down, knowning the kind of boss she has, her fellow colleagues came and tried calming him down. so that the boss wouldn't come out, instead he grew more angrier and decided to see the manager else he wouldn't leave. You could guess what would have happened there. of course Erica was fired that night and the worst of it all she was not given her salary for the month. Erica went back home, fell on her bed like a log of wood and buried her head in her pillow. Erica: oh my God! can't things not get anymore worse, thanks alot James for ruining my day, i just wish you and your family will suffer more than the way i did and die and i will never see you again, and then your queen will have a heart attack and die too. i... just... can take... it... anymore (uncontrollable tears streamed down Erica's eyes). i know i'm a lost cause, i'm so unfortunate, i'm just so... (tears kept rolling) but all the same i won't forgive you. James. humilating me infront of the whole school. Erica locked herself in her room for days crying, she didn't go to school, her parents especially her mum was worried and begging her to come out and eat or have a little chat at least. but all to no avail. she just stayed indoors, ordering pizzas through her window watching emotional movies and MSA, listening to depressed songs and crying her heart out. she cried till she had puffy eyes and eyebags. One day, her dad couldn't take it anymore. he broke her door, came in and saw his poor baby on bed restless, he saw packet of pizza everywhere, the whole room was a mess. Mr Thompson: i don't get it. Erica: i don't want to talk to anyone. Mr Thompson: you can't go on like this, just tell me what's wrong. Erica: (still refusing to talk, grabbed her earbuds and started listening to music) . Her dad was really confused and disappointed. He was even more worried for the fact that., exams are by the corner and she had already missed alot, how was she gonna prepare for the exams and also for the fact that she was on scholarship and her grades were falling. just then her mum walked in. Mr Thompson: she hasn't said anything since. Mrs Thompson: i'll try talking to her myself. Mr Thompson : pls do, maybe she can relate more with you. After a lot of persuasions from her mum, she had to spill it out. Her mum tried consoling her. but now that Erica lost her job, things are going to be really tough, her mum thought. Mrs Thompson: Honey u seem down, what's wrong? Erica: everything mum, everything is wrong. Mrs Thompson: oh darling, tell me about it. Erica: school is awful... she spills everything out exactly the way it is. Mrs Thompson: wait you mean your boss fired you and refused to give you your salary for this month? who the f**k does that? Erica: I don't know, I don't know, i just don't know, i'm so tired and angry(she burst out again). Mrs Thompson: (putting an arm around her) sweetheart, i know it feels like that sometimes. Being a teenager is tough. it's like a roller coaster of emotions. Erica: But it's hard, i feel so alone. Mrs Thompson : i know honey, it's a time of big changes, new pressures and figuring out who you are . But you're not alone, remember i'm here for you, your dad is here for you, we love you. Erica: i know but... Mrs Thompson: but what?? Erica: i don't know how to deal with it. Mrs Thompson: well, first let's acknowledge that what you're feeling is valid. it's okay to feel overwhelmed. Remember honey, this is just a phase. it won't last forever. And you are strong, capable and loved. Erica: thanks mum i feel better now(she said with a soft smile). Mrs Thompson: anytime sweetheart, now how about we order some popcorn and watch a movie? Erica: (smiling a little) that sounds good. They hugged each other and began to plan their movie night. later her dad walked in and joined the movie. The summer holiday were already coming so Erica had no plans of going back to school. maybe she will resume next semester she thought. *************************************** James got back home from school, his room looking so untidy, his books and clothes were scattered everywhere, his tables, chairs and wardrobes were so disorganised. James: what the hell! who could have done this? (he was trying to arrange before his dad walked in). Mr Harrison: That's it, i'm fed up. James: (confused) what are you talking about? Mr Harrison: Maybe you will understand, by the time i ship you off to that boarding school, why do you keep giving me a headache? James: (even more confused) ok, so right now, i'm really confused and lost. i need an explanation. Mr Harrison: I'm looking for my 1000$ and i remembered you asking for a new set of wardrobe, tell me james, tell me the truth, do you have anything to do with it? James: oh! about that (looks down for a while) look dad i'm really sorry about that. But i really needed that money, not for the clothes actually, but i needed it to help a friend. I'm so sorry. Mr Harrison: i'm incredibly disappointed in you James. This isn't just about the money anymore. This is about your behavoir, your lack of respect, dishonesty. if this doesn't change i'm gonna have to make some serious decisions. James: I said i was sorry Dad! what more do u want? (looks down remorseful). Mr Harrison: I want you to understand the gravity of what you have done. i want you to be honest and responsible! And if you can't manage that here, then i'll find a place that can teach you these things. James: What are you talking about? Mr Harrison: I'm talking about the boarding school, James out of the country. somewhere where they'll teach you discipline and respect. somewhere you'll not have the opportunities to make these kinds of mistake. James: whoa, dad you can't be serious! that's insane! (James remorse fades replaced by shock and anger). Mr Harrison: i'm serious james, this is your last chance, shape up or you are gone. James: So you are just going to send me away, just because i made a mistake? that's not fair. Mr Harrison: Fair? you think it's fair to steal? to lie? I'm trying to teach you a lesson, James! and if i have to do it from across the ocean, then so be it. James: you're overeacting! it was just 1000$ you're making a huge deal out of nothing. Mr Harrison: it's not about the money, James! it's about the principle! And you are clearly not getting it. i keep recieving calls from your principal at school about one problem or the other. and i'm sick of it. so you stealing this money isn't a shock to me at all. James: you're being ridiculous! and i'm not going anywhere. Mr Harrison: i want you to understand the value of money and hardwork. This summer you're going to get a job. James: "A job" But Dad it's summer! i just want to relax and hang out with my friends. Mr Harrison: you see! that's the problem, all you care about is hanging out with friends, you can never be serious with your studies like your sister. Working will teach you a responsibility. you'll pay me back the exact amount. it will be tough but it will worth it. James: But what kind of job can i even get? i don't know where to start. Mr Harrison: i don't f*****g care James, i don't care, maybe you can be a waiter or cleaner, read my lips "i just want my money back" the exact amount. (he said as he walked out). James just stood there, staring at the ground and biting lips so hard. All through the night, James didn't sleep, he was checking out job applications on his mac book, luckily for him he found one after four hours of searching and he was told to come immediately his summer break began. 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗8: 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮 ****************************************** Erica wanted to spend her holiday somewhere far from home, meet new people, new friends and boost her social life back before resuming school. if it were then when her life was still full of luxury, she would have travelled out of the country. it was as if luck was on her side. her cousin called her to plan how they'll spend their holiday. Natalie: you don't sound good, are you sure you're okay? Erica: i'm fine okay, i'm fine Natalie: you know u can tell me anything. Erica: i... i don't want to bother you. Natalie: common, talk to me, else i'm coming over there to get you arrested and lock you up in my house. Erica: (laughing) You won't stop killing me with all these silly jokes of yours. Natalie: (laughing) it's really being a long time, so tell me how are you doing? Are they bothering you in that house, talk to me. Erica: (exhales) okay so actually, my life has being really stressful lately. I didn't even write this semester exams. worst of it all i got fired. honestly, i really need a fresh start(exhales). She ended up telling her everything. Natalie: you know i was thinking of how we are going to plan this holiday. why don't you come over so we can talk things properly. you can have a fresh start from here so start packing. Erica: Are you for real(screams in excitement). Natalie: why not it's the least i could do. Erica: you gat's be kidding right now. i'm super excited. But won't you ask your parents first? Natalie: (exaggerating) oh about that, i'm gonna hide you in my closet if they refuse. Get over here baby girl. Erica: (laghing) Thanks a lot Natalie, you just made my day. love u Natalie: love u too. He supports Erica's parents financially a lot especially now they're in need of it.
