Charlotte’s POV
William hooked his arms under me, one beneath the knees and the other supporting my back, and lifted me off the ground. I clutched at his shoulder as he carried me over to the gazebo a ways away from the training field.
Once there, he carefully set me down on one of the benches and crouched in front of me, looking at my face. He pressed the back of his hand to my forehead, then checked my pulse at my wrist with two fingers.
Nora hovered at my elbow, wringing her hands.
“I’m okay, sweetheart,” I told her, forcing a smile. “It’s passing.”
Nora didn’t look particularly convinced, but I wasn’t lying. The pain was already pulling back a little, which was out of the ordinary. Normally, it could last for hours, but this time, it was only a few minutes. Maybe it was William’s
