Chapter 19
They walked in silence back to Alex’s childhood home. Daniel glanced at him a couple times and noticed his partner was frowning. Maybe he was thinking back to Ben’s words.
“Are you okay?” he asked finally, when he couldn’t take it anymore. He didn’t know what to think and, although he knew it was impossible Alex changed his mind again about them, he was worried facing Ben had brought back unwanted memories.
“Yeah, I’m just thinking if I had taken my head out of my ass a little bit earlier, I wouldn’t have lost all that time. And just because I was obsessed with some shitty words an i***t told me when I was a teenager. How could I be so stupid?”
