CHAPTER 1 Desmond's POV "Am I going to die this way?"I thought whilst standing in front of this gangsters. "Are you ready to die ." One of the gangsters asked , whilst smirking and I knew this was my last day on this wretched earth. "Urgh!" I screamed in pain as the bullet made it's way in my body.The wind blew me off as it blows away chaffs because I was weak. I fell in a river as I fainted. Nancy's POV "Nancy! Go fetch water from the river so that we can prepare dinner."My mom said "Okay mom!"I replied as I took the pot. I went outside and I met Sandy my childhood friend . We were born on the same day and month but I'm a minute older than her. She was also going to fetch water. She came to me smiling. " Hey Sandy." I said. " Hey gal." She said whilst grinning happily. "And why are so happy?" I asked. "Well, what's going on between Richard and you.?" She asked instead of answering my question. "And what do you mean by that?" I asked. "Stop that! I know you guys are a thing.I see the way he eyes shimmers with love when he sees you." She said. "Well I haven't noticed that and we ain't a thing " I said. "But why?! I mean you guys are a perfect match and he has eyes for you only despite being this village most dashing guy ever!" She said whilst sulking. Well I couldn't care less. "Well I don't care. Stop talking about guys." I said and she kept quiet. We continued walking. Later we got there and we saw the most horrifying thing,a man surrounded by blood whilst being in the river. We immediately dragged him out. "What are we gonna do?" Sandy panicked. "We'll take him to our secret hut." I suggested. "O... okay." She agreed.We placed our pots on the ground. I held his legs and Sandy held his shoulders and we carried him and took him to the hut. I am an expert with bullets. So I told Sandy to fetch water. And I went to took for firewood and medicine. "Where are the leaves?" I said whilst touring through the forest. "Here you are!" I said as I saw the leaves,I plucked it and placed it in my underwear.I tied that firewood and placed it on my head and I made hasty steps to the hut. Upon reaching there,I saw Sandy carrying the pot of water. We entered the hut. I started the fire and placed the pot of water on the litter firewood. "Sandy, take the white piece of cloth from the cupboard for me." I ordered. She later came back in with the cloth. I ripped the cloth into pieces. I took a calabash and fetched some of the heated water from the pot and dipped some of the cloth I ripped in the hot water filling the calabash and squeezed the water from the cloth. "Take this cloth,use it to wipe all the blood." I said whilst handing the wet cloth to Sandy. I stood up after placing the leaves in the pot of hot water and headed for the cupboard and took my new knife and scissors and headed towards the man. I knelt down beside. I used the knife to cut his body(where the wound was located) and used the scissors to remove the bullet from his body. "Pour the water in the calabash,rinse it and pour the water from the pot into the calabash and bring the leaves." I said and she obliged. I then placed the hot leaves on his wound and took a bandage and wrapped it around his body and tightened it. We then left him after cleaning up. We fetched the water and took it home.
