ChapterOne
In the twilight of the day, through the dense misty forest with twisted trees, accompanied by sounds of different howling and a haunting atmosphere like the shadows of death or ghosts on the walls and ground, scary sounds of flying creatures, a haunting mournful and foggy wind that echoes through the landscape, the thick rolling fog that obscures visibility amidst the night was a large glowing full moon hanging low in the sky accompanied by the flying creatures. There it was, an old wooden and withered building stretched with cracked wooden beams, overgrown with vines and moss; these buildings littered everywhere in the misty forest. Buildings with secret passages like hidden underground doors and concealed rooms making movements undetected.
In the middle of the night, in outer space, there was a big beautiful, full moon; perks of people gathering in an open field, some sitting on the ground and some standing. It was like a converging of people in a meeting, in the middle of them was a k****e made fire like a fire camp before an old rusty table and chairs under a gigantic tree with the whistling of birds, eating, singing, and celebrating, forever toasting to their togetherness and history of unity. There arose the rein of King Jayden Lemuel. He had two sons and one daughter, his sons’ names were Lawrence Lemuel and Vicker Lemuel, his daughter's name was Anna Lemuel and his wife's name was Lucia Lemuel.
“I need the good things of Woodstone, the finest vegetation, lands, and finest livestock, now that I am a king”, said Jayden as he called out to his son, “Lawrence! Lawrence!”, “yes Father”, Lawrence responded, and the King continued, “I want you to present these letters to each family and let them know that the next appearance of the full moon everybody should come to the king's mansion”. As soon as he got the letters from his father, Lawrence zoomed off as with the speed of light, and after some hours he returned to his father; “I have delivered all the letters to each family, and they are preparing for the appearance of the full moon”, “okay Son,” the King replied, “now go and call my brother’s wife, tell her that I want to see her now.”
As Lawrence turned in readiness to zoom off yet again, he paused almost immediately as he heard “Father, permit me to go alongside my brother”, Vicker requested, “you are free to join him but don’t slow him down”, their father answered as they both stepped out, running like wild horses, and sweating as though they were engaged in a gold medal competition, they began panting for air as soon they got to the house.
“You’re welcome!” Casey and Alex said to them, “What brings you here?” They asked in shock. “Our father requests the presence of your mother immediately” Lawrence replied, “Our mother?! Hope all is well?” Casey and Alex exclaimed as they opened their mouth with raised eyebrows. “Did she do anything wrong?” Lawrence replied with a twisted and furious face; “okay, Alex will inform her immediately”, Casey said and Alex left to call his mother immediately.
On receiving this information, Kassie, their mother, started preparing so she could leave. On reaching and entering the King’s Mansion, she walked up to meet the King who was already waiting for her. “I am so pleased to see you”, Kassie said as she knelt down and hugged the king’s wife before turning to greet the king. “I am glad you’re here on such short notice,” the King said. “What I’m about to discuss with you, I want you to relate it to your husband” the King instructed as he continued; “You see, we are family and we are bound by blood. I want this bond we have as a family to be very strong, I am the king but my youngest brother is not close to me, he does not support my policies, and he opposes me, I don't want to be seen as a weak king, so that is why I am putting these policies in place.” “I have heard you my King” Kassie replied, “I will talk to him, my King permit me to go back home so that I can get to my farm and pluck some vegetables to cook on time”. “You are free to go, that's all I wanted to tell you,” said the King.
Kassie got up with a warm and gentle smile and made her way back to the house. As soon as she got home she met her husband in the house and he gave her some meat for soup. She discovered that her sons had gone out with the king’s sons, she quickly got into the kitchen and started preparing the soup, her husband came in to assist her and they began discussing. She narrated to him everything the king said, but Adolphus was like a pin dropped in silence, he didn't utter a word and his wife was lost in the maze. As soon as she was done cooking, she quickly served his meal for him to eat and she was lost in thoughts, she pondered to herself (maybe he's very hungry that is why he has not said anything about what I told him). When he was done eating he went back to his chambers and didn't say anything to his wife which made her very confused as she gazed into the darkness for answers but found none. At sunset, the cool air that carries the scent of the evening blooms, Casey and Alex got back home with some meat for their mother, while the Wolf-King’s sons returned to the palace with some meat for their mother which made her very happy. Hunting was a much-respected tradition for all the young males in the community, and every participant was held in high regard as it took great courage to engage in this activity. This was also seen as a stage of transition into manhood for every young adult male.
