Nathan’s POV
Seeing Nicole in the kitchen so intimate with Jake, holding his hands and looking so at peace with being with Jake, felt like a stab in my chest. She has never been so calm with me, whenever she is with me there is always something to disagree about.
Since Jake got here all he has done is try to get close to Nicole, I doubt he even cares about finding the children. All he wants is to claim Nicole as his and from the looks of things he might actually be winning her heart.
Later in the day I had gone to Nicole’s room to apologize to her for my outburst, but on entering her room, I found it empty. As always her bed was undone and a few of her clothing were on the floor. I picked up the clothes and put them away.
