Hurt flashed on Nathan’s face. “What do you mean by that?” he asked.
“I said she is not your daughter,” I repeated, averting my eyes from his threatening gaze. I'm sure he knew I was lying because I was obviously angry. Of course, Amy was his daughter, but with everything happening and Alexandra, who was expecting his child, I did not want my daughter to become a target. She has been through enough as it is. If it were up to me, I would take Amy and leave town right now, before there becomes a full-blown war. But I can’t leave, not until I’ve gotten Danny and Mia back.
