Nathan gave me a weird look. But I could tell he was trying so hard not to gloat. He had told me Jake could not be trusted, but I did not listen.
“Just go ahead and say it,” I said.

I could not tell if he was serious or just messing with me. “Never mind,” I lowered my gaze.
