“For the life you have taken, I curse you!” The witch cried as she held on to her dying daughter. I laughed as I watched the tears fall because no matter what I did or how many lives I took, I still felt empty.
‘She’s not coming back. We lost her!’ My wolf reminded me as if I wasn’t feeling the same pain.
I looked at the woman before me and took menacing steps towards her. “You forget one thing, witch: no curse can top the pain you made me go through when you took her from me,” I growled dangerously and reached into her daughter’s chest and pulled out the heart while she watched and screamed in horror.
“No!” Tears fell down her face, but my punishment didn’t end there. I turned to the guards.
“Tie her up, feed her my blood, and don't kill her until I say so!” I commanded.
The guards looked at me like I had grown two heads. Yes, I was the only Hybrid alive. Half-vampire and half-wolf in pain for eternity!
She screamed as she was being dragged away because she knew I was going to turn her into the thing she hates the most.
That didn’t bother me, but I should have known better. Because the b***h made me immortal, I never die, but every time it rains, I feel excruciating pain. It never stops; it feels like my heart is being torn to pieces bit by bit, but no matter how painful it gets, nothing can ever top the pain I feel every night when I think about my Leisely.
My seer told me to find her so I could end the curse.
But who is she, and where the hell am I going to find her?
I have two goals:
To find all the witch’s descendants and wipe them out of this earth.
To find the girl meant to put an end to this curse. I believe in an afterlife; once I find her, I’ll die and rejoin my love once again.

The human world keeps evolving, and they become slaves to ridiculous things such as technology and money, but one thing our worlds have in common is the strong desire for power.
It took a while for my pack to accept that I'm a half-vampire, but I know that it's mostly because they fear my strength. That is why they didn't oppose me when I took the throne after the death of my father. When I left, I placed my first cousin Luke in charge because he was my beta. I don't trust the fucker, but I needed someone strong enough to keep my people safe.
It's been five years since I came to the human town, and I’d rather be anywhere else right now. But because my seer insists that I should stay here with the humans because that is where she is, I have to. I would call his bullshit, but he’s proven to be right every time. So, I listened to him, and now I have to deal with stupid and lesser beings every day.
I built empires and became the most powerful businessman here in New York because a man of my nature would need to cover up certain tracks. I started making my move five hundred years ago when I finally killed the witch that took my Leisely away from me, but I only moved here recently so I could find her faster and end this misery. I’m nine hundred years old, but even such a long life doesn’t take away certain habits.
Habits of a hybrid.
“We will be receiving ten new students today, sir.” My secretary Nathan updates me as we walk to my office but I don’t even acknowledge him or the other staff as I take the elevator.
Humans annoy me. I find them stupid and too slow.
“Good,” I respond as I press the button to shut him out, but he's quick as he uses his speed to join me. The rest of my top staff remain standing outside, knowing very well I hate it when anyone is near me. Most of the humans on my board know who I am and have sworn to secrecy, which they have kept after a few demonstrations of what happens when you cross me.
But that doesn't mean Nathan should be reckless about it.
“Just so you know, I will tear your heart out if anyone finds out about what you are,” I warn him.
“Your speed is five times mine, Alpha. I have to use it to catch up with your normal pace. Please bear with me.” Nate complains, and I throw him a dirty look but ignore him.
Nathan Smith is an Omega, but I found him loyal and chose to move with him when I came to this world because even though he’s of a low rank, he knows more about how everything here works than we do, especially since his Mother is half human, so he spent most of his days living here, which put me at an advantage.
“What time will they be here? I can only spare ten minutes.” I say to him as we walk back to my office.
‘We will only need five. For us to smell her. But do you think she will be among them today?’ My wolf Zephyr asks.
‘I don’t know.’ I answer impatiently.
He’s as tired as I am, but now more than ever, I need to find her.
My kingdom and my people need me, but how can I protect them wholly when my enemy has learned of my long-kept secret?
‘We will check for her and then leave for Moonshadow Park.’ I tell him.
‘ To find the traitor?’ He asks.
‘To find the f*****g traitor.’ I confirm as I feel my blood starting to boil all over again.
Nate knocks on my door and bows slightly. “They’re here.”
"Good." I stand and walk to our boardroom, hoping she will be among the students today.
