Chapter 11

284 Words
A Desperate Situation Jessica's mind was racing as she tried to process the situation. James knew about her and Max, and she had no idea what he was going to do next. "You're a fool, Jessica," James sneered, his eyes flashing with anger. "You think you can just betray me like this and get away with it?" Jessica tried to speak, but her voice was shaking too much. She knew that she was in grave danger, and she didn't know how she was going to get out of this alive. James took a step closer to her, his fists clenched at his sides. "You're going to pay for what you've done, Jessica," he hissed. "You're going to pay dearly." Jessica knew that she had to think fast. She couldn't let James hurt her, not now that she had finally found the courage to stand up to him. With a surge of adrenaline, Jessica turned and ran, dashing out of the room and down the hallway. She could hear James behind her, his footsteps pounding the floor as he chased after her. Jessica didn't dare look back. She kept running, her heart pounding in her chest, until she reached the front door and flung it open. She stumbled out into the night air, gasping for breath as she looked around frantically for a way to escape. And then, in the distance, she saw a figure waiting for her. It was Max, his eyes locked on hers as he beckoned her towards him. Jessica didn't hesitate. She ran towards him, her heart full of hope and her spirit renewed. Together, they would face whatever lay ahead. Together, they would fight for their freedom and their love.
